Sweet, playful, and ready to snuggle – meet Millie, a joyful little pup with a big heart! Millie is a 6-month-old Chihuahua / Papillon mix. She is about 6 lbs, and believed to be no more than 10 lbs full grown.
Millie is coming to Colorado Roswell, NM to start her new life. Millie ended up losing her home at just 6 months old — her family quickly realized that puppies require more time and energy than they expected. Luckily for Millie, she’s landed in the right place to find a forever family who truly gets her.
Millie is everything you'd expect from a happy, healthy pup: playful, energetic, and full of love. She hops around with classic puppy enthusiasm, then crashes hard into a cozy nap.
Millie is wonderful with other dogs and adores people. She’s eager to shower her humans with endless kisses and tail wags, and we know she’s going to thrive in a home where she gets both affection and guidance. Like all young pups, Millie will need some basic training – potty routines, leash walking, etc. – but she’s a smart girl who’s ready to learn.
Millie is a happy, playful little pup. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment with a puppy will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development.
Since Millie is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Millie will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.
Millie is up to date on his vaccines and fully vetted. Millie is not yet spayed. Farfel's covers the full cost of her spay, which must be done by the time (or before) she turns 1 year old. Spay is required by law to finalize any adoption.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.
Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
