Only complete & qualified applications will be considered or contacted for adoptions. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found here on our website. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet & greet. Dottie is a sweet girl just waiting for the right forever home. She came from a life of breeding, so everything has been new for her, but she is doing well adjusting. She is nervous and shy until she gets settled in which can take several weeks so she will need a patient home. Because of her being timid, she needs a calm somewhat quite home. Older, respectful children will be fine with Dottie. Dottie loves playing with the other four-legged friends. A home with another dog of Dottie's size is required. Dottie looks to her foster canine siblings to learn commands & feel safe. We are happy to say that she responds rather jubilantly & has fun playing. Her favorite thing in the whole wide world is to zoom all over the yard, run & run & run & run! At this time, Dottie is still not comfortable on a harness and leash. For her safety, you must have a secure physically fenced yard. Any fence with gaps will need to be reinforced around the bottom area so Dottie is not able to get through the spacing. Additionally, we will make sure the adopting family has a plan to prevent any door-dashing. We have a lot of experience in this, & we can make easy recommendations to help keep Dottie safe. Her forever home will need time to teach her that she is safe. In her foster home she has shown this is possible, time & patience is key. Dottie plays & runs around like a happy dog should. She will even lay on her back & expose her belly while playing! You can find FAQ on our website regarding adoption. Meet Tuxedo! He’s a lively 1-year-old, 12-pound Pomeranian who was surrendered because his energy was too much for his original owners. Tuxedo absolutely loves kids and thrives in their company. Although he’s a bit nervous around unfamiliar dogs, especially larger ones, he’d likely do well after a proper introduction.Tuxedo would be a perfect fit for an active family who can help him burn off his energy and work with this little smartie pants to train and reach his full potential. Meet Freddie, a three-year-old female Pomeranian with a heart full of love and a spirit that will brighten your day. This sweet girl is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and ready to find her forever home. Freddie is one of the happiest dogs you'll ever meet, and her joyful personality is infectious. Freddie is housebroken and knows to go to the door when she needs to go out, although she'll need a little guidance to learn the routine in her new home. She's not entirely leash-trained yet, but she's very smart and catches on quickly. When out and about, Freddie prefers to stay close to her person, making her a wonderful companion. Currently living with five dachshund foster siblings, Freddie gets along well with other dogs and is learning to be more social with each passing day. While we're not sure how she feels about cats, her adaptable and observant nature suggests she'll adjust well with the right introduction. When Freddie first arrived at her foster home, she took some time to observe and settle in before joining in on the fun. With patience, love, and gentle encouragement, Freddie has started to come out of her shell and participate in all the household activities. Freddie's beautiful floofy coat was trimmed down by her previous owner's groomer for the summer, but it will grow back quickly, revealing her full Pomeranian glory. Her new family will be carefully chosen, as Freddie truly is a little treasure waiting for the perfect place to call home. She will need a fenced yard and no small children. She will not do well with long hours alone. Another small dog companion would be wonderful. Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process. Located in Troy, MO Yuppie is a tiny Pom puppy. She was born in a puppy mill and is now getting the socialization and care she needs. Yuppie may be small but she is feisty! She can rough and tumble with the bigger puppies. She is also a smart cookie, because when those puppies get too rough she knows what to do and who to call! She will tattle on those big pups and foster mom swoops in to save the day! When Yuppie isn't playing she likes to sleep in the crate with the door open or in foster mom's lap. She likes to chew on toys and loves her freeze dried treats! Yuppie is currently being treated for Giardia, a common parasite found in puppy mills. She will complete her meds by Aug 6 and will go home with any remaining meds if needed. Yuppie's adoption is $500. She is current on age appropriate vaccines, subsequent vaccines are the responsibility of her new family. She has not been spayed due to her age (we spay/neuter at 6 months) and a spay contract is required. Rubi is microchipped. Visit leiashope.org for next steps. All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application. We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet. Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!
