ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13798My name is Buddy Boy but you can call me Buddy. I am a 6 month old 9 lb Pomeranian. My original family bought me and let me roam and said to neighbors “we don’t want him, you keep him”! Ouch!I was lucky that the neighbors took me in and treated me like the sweet puppy I am. They are older and a puppy wasn’t on their wish list.I am crate trained and like sleeping in my crate or a dog bed. I am soooo sweet. I am doing great on potty breaks outside. I am all love and I must say quite the looker. Buddy Boo is deaf but responds to hand signals for sit, down and working on stay.. He will keep eye contact to know what is expected of him. He is a care free, hoppy, zoomie puppy. Are you ready to bring me home? I’ll be the best boy ever!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Chase is 7 years old and definitely has a lot of life left in him. He loves to run and play in the yard. He is good with other dogs but does like his space unless he engages to play. Chase is a happy little guy and loves to have his head petted and his neck and back rubbed and massaged. He does not like to be picked up all the time but will let you know when he does. He will jump up on your lap from affection. Chase gets very excited when people visit him. We have worked on two options that help him, have our guests come in and not put their hands down to pet him until he smells them and then he is fine or put him in another room until the guests have settled in and then he will come and greet them. He is not mean, he just gets so excited he nips at your fingers if you try to pet too soon.   It will take Chase a little time to settle in but once he does he will be your companion for the rest of his life.   He is house trained but might need an early morning potty break but he lets you know that he has to go out. He is currently living with 5 other dogs from 10 lbs to 70 lbs, senior and puppy!! He gets groomed about every 8 weeks to keep his beautiful coat neat. He loves to prance after he returns from the groomer. He likes to take walks and also likes to go in the car, he is a little nervous at first and then settles down.    Since Chase is so excited to see people we will not place him with a family with children. He needs adult attention as children may spook him.  Chase needs to have a fenced yard so he can run and play in addition to any walks and car rides offered to him. Chase has been around cats at the groomer and does not seem to care.   The perfect home for Chase would be with a retired family and no other animals. Chase does have some food aggression, so when he is fed let him finish his bowl and walk away before picking up the bowl. He gets fed twice a day and no grazing. He takes treats very gently.SPECIAL NOTE FOR YOU. wE HAVE DONE A DNA ON THIS LITTLE BOY AND HERE IT IS:  Chase's DNA Results - main breeds  (I would not have guessed the poodle first, his coat is straight and sleek) 30% Poodle (Toy and Miniature) 22% Chihuahua 11% Pomeranian 6% American Eskimo Dog 6% Miniature Pinscher   If you are interested in Chase, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 5:13 am

Story
Hello, Meet Rope, a 4 month old Pomeranian chihuahua mix. Rope is an easy-going , smart and playful friend.  After some initial low growls to let them know he's not afraid, he gets along great with his foster mom's 3 [much] bigger dogs. He's doing well with crate training. He is making awesome progress on potty training and has learned the "sit" and “paw” command. He sleeps through the night and holds his bladder till the morning. When walking outside he is discovering the world one sniff at a time. He wishes he could fly and climb trees to catch squirrels. He is friendly and interacts well with children. He gets compliments from people all the time. He loves to play with his toys.  He is a sweet and fun puppy that will bring so much joy to his forever home. Are you ready to meet me? Visit https://www.wtarescue.com/adoption-process-2 to request a meet and greet and to learn more about the adoption process! Mandatory in-person transfer date: Sept 7th at the Petsmart in Tysons Corner between 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. All adopters must attend in order to finalize the adoption. ##2098879##

Story
Stop, look, listen! Ransom is adorable! But he is only available to someone who has extensive experience with dogs who have Ransom's behavior issues. Yes, he's as soft as a stuffed toy and just as cute and is a very smart, affectionate little guy. But he's quirky. Originally aged at 12 years old by the shelter where he was turned in as a stray, we agree with our vet team that he’s more likely about 8 years old. Ransom loves to keep watch over the neighborhood as much as he loves being cuddled. He’ll use his paw to pull your hand to his face to stroke him. We initially thought he needed to be an only pet but since he was neutered, he is doing much better. We have taken things very slowly with him and the other dogs here. When he first met the other dogs, he was territorial and showed resource guarding towards humans. We have worked with him and he has made great progress. He learns quickly and really wants to please. He knows sit, wait, watch, and come, walks nicely on the leash and is perfectly crate and house trained. Ransom needs a very special adopter. Please read our Senior Moments post to learn about him: https://www.flfosenioranimals.org/post/ransom-notes FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD. Thank you for understanding.
