Story
Meet Haesol❤️ After roaming for an unknown period of time, Haesol entered a local temple in search of food and refuge. Fortunately, the monks took good care of Haesol, but there were cats in the temple that they had tended, so they were unable to continue caring for him. Haesol was rescued thanks to the efforts of an Adogs volunteer who learned about the situation. * Toward People: Shows curiosity about strangers, even if they're new to him! Shows interest but doesn't enjoy being touched. Relaxes with familiar people. * Toward Dogs:He accepts doggy friends who come up to him rather than approaching first. He stays still when they approach rather than playing or reacting. * Separation Anxiety: He doesn't have separation anxiety in the house and usually sleeps even when he is with other dog friends. When he is confined to an unfamiliar place, such as a kennel or hotel room, he barks demandingly after about 10 minutes, but in his comfortable home, he doesn't bark at all. * Potty Training: He's good at peeing on a pad when he's at home, and he's good when he goes outside, but he prefers to do his poops outside. * Hygiene: Is terrified and dislikes bathing, either because he is not used to it or because of his hump on the body. * Walks: He walks well without pulling on the leash. Sometimes he goes where he wants to go, but if you give him a little tug on the leash, he will follow. * Car sickness: He doesn't like to ride in cars and sometimes barks. * He doesn't bark at all, except once in a while when the leash is tightened to show his discomfort. * He doesn't like to have his paws touched, so he barks and runs around, and he gets scared when there's a sudden loud noise, like a bus. * He has a calm and relaxed nature. At home, he is very relaxed and not very interested in toys. He is very curious and enjoys going for walks. ❗Health Status❗ - Is scheduled for tooth scaling. - Has some spinal stenosis, thus his gait is slightly unstable. However, his condition does not require surgery. - The surgery to remove the lump has been completed. The liver is inflamed and needs to be managed while the eyes have nuclear sclerosis. - He has a lipoma on his instep that has been bleeding, and is being watched carefully if there is continued bleeding. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @easystar_imbo

Story
Blaze is a 1-year-old terrier weighing around 12 lbs, and he’s truly a special dog! Despite his young age, Blaze is remarkably sweet and chill. He loves curling up on a pillow for a nap or cuddling quietly in your lap, but he’s also full of playful energy and enjoys a good game of fetch. Blaze is well-mannered and responds to commands—he listens when you say “no” or “stop.” He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate and greets people and other dogs with respect. Blaze gets along well with dogs of all sizes and walks beautifully on a leash. He eats well, loves treats, and is quick to learn when motivated by them. He’s the perfect mix of playful and calm, making him an ideal companion for a loving home! Approved adopters interested in Blaze can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. Story
Fuzzy Bear is not a Bear but Fuzzy Bear sure is adorable!!! This 18 month old Pomeranian mix (we think he may be a mix but looks pretty pure Pomeranian) is the perfect 9 lb friend. He is friendly, active and loves to play like most Pomeranians. Fuzzy love to “dance” as he begs for attention. He is housebroken and crate trained. His one true love though is PLAY. He loves to be outside and running around. He is no couch potato! While he needs some work on his leash training he would do well with long walks given his love of being on the go! Fuzzy is very affectionate and sweet. He loves other dogs, all people and does fine with cats. Fuzzy came into our rescue as a stray as he was in a shelter. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fees cover spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Please meet the gentle Pita Pom Pom. As you may have noticed Pita was born without eyes and is completely blind. While many feel bad for Pita - she does not. She is a friendly, happy, sweet natured dog that has never met a stranger. She LOVES everyone and is thrilled at the affection that comes her way! She has no idea she should be anything but a happy bouncy Pom She is a bitty thing moving through the world as she is a purebred Pomeranian that is around 4 years old and weighs about 8 lbs. She is currently working on her housebreaking and does go to the bathroom outside. She will need a gentle hand to teach her how to orient herself to the outside in a new space and learn to use it. We have seen many blind dogs do very well with housebreaking so this is likely just a time/training issue. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? Story
AURORA - Pom Mix, 1.5 years, 12lbs, Spayed  Our Team Says: "Aurora came to us with a significant limp. Upon a physical exam the vet could not elicit a pain response from her leg but did not that her limp was significant.  We had x-rays completed and sent out for review by a radiologist. Overall the radiologist didn't find anything super concerning  - no broken bones or fractures.  They did find an effusion at the wrist. An effusion is a build up of fluid usually from inflammation. We don't know if the effusion is happening because of an old injury or because of the way she walks. Next steps are to start her on anti-inflammatories and rest (so short walks). And see how she responds to a course of anti-inflammatories. Interested adopters will need to be ready to complete a joint tap and/or a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon if she doesn't show much progress with the course of anti-inflammatories." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy levelLOWER: Pretty chill indoors and won’t demand endless amounts of stimulation and exercise but still needs a few walks a day (10-30 min each) for potty breaks and to stretch their legs MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  HIGH: Needs a daily 2-hour (or longer) window of quick paced exercise each morning in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). May also need another 40+ minute walk in the afternoon. Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusPlease read information at top of adoption listing :) Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
