Story
Kyle is our longest term canine resident, but luckily he lives in a foster home and thrives on his routine there. Though he doesn't know his star sign, Kyle thinks he is probably a Virgo; he likes order and predictability! He knows just when it is time to go to his crate or outside for his walk, and he'd probably send you a calendar invite for those events if he could. Kyle is incredibly affectionate with his people, wanting to give kisses and sit in their laps. He makes some very funny noises, often sounding like the grouchy old man he is on the inside. He is quite smart and quick to offer a paw in exchange for a treat. Except...it better be the kind he likes, or he'll spit it out. Kyle lives with a male dog and two cats in his foster home. His foster reports that he mostly co-exists and doesn't care much to play with his dog sibling. If interested in Kyle, please email our Outreach and Behavior Coordinator Emily Herr at herre@bloomington.in.gov

Story
We'd be willing to bet you've never seen a dog like Zeus! He is quite the combination of husky and...something! Imagine waking up to this derpy goof every day; you'd be sure to wake up with a smile! From Zeus's foster dad:Zeus didn’t do well in the shelter. He couldn’t cope with all the noise and activity and smells, and was a trembling wreck, so the shelter got him into foster care. In just a couple of days in a quiet, calm place, with a lot of fussing over him and telling him he was a good boy, he bonded to me and became the sweet, affectionate dog he is. All this guy wants and needs is somebody he can trust and be near. Now, he follows me wherever I go, and when I stop to do something, he lies down near me. If I go to another room, he’s usually sitting by the door when I come back, waiting for me. I wish I could spend more time with this 80 pound love sponge, because he thrives on being near his person. Zeus needs a quiet home, and a large dog crate to which he can retire when he wants some time on his own. A place with young children and lots of coming/going would probably not work for him. His best situation would be with someone who is around a lot, perhaps retired or who works from home, so he can be near you. This guy is a very low maintenance boy. No bad habits. 100% housetrained. Doesn’t jump up. Doesn’t bark. Likes my cats. Doesn’t pull on his lead on walks. Barely sheds at all. If I’m not around for a while, he just goes in his crate and sleeps. Belly pets are his favorite. And he has the most beautiful blue eyes. If you need a friend who will adore you and be happy just being with you, Zeus is your boy.

Story
Zuko is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Zuko is a 4 year old purebred Siberian Husky. He is mostly a chill dog, but if you want to run around and play, he is up for that too! He's grown up with our son since he was born, so he is great with littles. Zuko is always down for a walk around the neighborhood or through a trail. Like all huskies, he loves to sing a tune too. He'll sing with us or on his own. He's fine with other animals as long as they do not show aggression. Like most larger breeds, Zuko would be happiest with a yard to run around in and a more active owner. When meeting other people, he is hesitant at first but warms up pretty quickly. With most folks, he's at their hip waiting to get rubs within 5 minutes of meeting. He stays up to date on shots and does not have a record of illness, nor has he shown any illness recently. He also does well during boarding, which we've had to do during travel sometimes.
