Story
Duncan is a young, adorable Pug that we lovingly refer to as a Pugaroo (half Pug/half Kangaroo) because it's either that or he has springs for legs! He is the true definition of a lap dog and will fly into it from the ground the moment you attempt to sit down. If he is on the ground, he is going to be staring at you, haha. He is absolutely perfect for someone wanting a constant companion and very best friend as there is nowhere that he would rather be than by your side. He charms everyone he meets and is all personality. He is funny, active and a joy to be around! Dogs. Duncan loves his foster siblings...even the ones who don't love him. Another playful dog would be great, but it's not a necessity. If not, he'd love some Puggy playdates with canine pals because he absolutely loves to play with them! He can be a bit much for older or less enthusiastic dogs, saying that. Cats. He does live with them in his foster home and can be annoying at times, but there is nothing malicious behind it. He just has to tell them how tough he is and we let him believe it Considerate Kids. He doesn't live with any, but has had interactions with them in foster and has done great. Housebroken with a schedule and routine. We did have to work on marking initially, but that should hopefully subside with his neuter. Crate trained. There may be some early protests, but he does very well in it after. Long hours alone. Duncan is young, active and Velco to his family, and would not do well on his own for extended time. He actually goes to work with his foster mom and does great there. He would need a dog walker or doggy day care otherwise. Manners. They could use a little work and needs an adopter who is willing to help continue that. Nothing over the top, but he does jump on you and could hone his listening skills. Overall, he is a great little guy that never fails to entertain and his cuddles are second to none! We will confirm at his upcoming vet appointment, but he does appear to have dry eye and may need eye drops as part of his daily care so this is something to consider as well when applying. Apply to adopt at www.animalluvrs.org All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org.
