Buttons is happy-go-lucky, energetic, and friendly with people. She enjoys car rides and trips to the beach and walks nicely on a leash. Buttons enjoys playing with plush toys and a good back scratch and massage whenever you can give her one.  Buttons is affectionate and can take short walks in cooler temperatures.  She travels well in the car and is always up for an outing.  Buttons is a healthy 9-year-old who weighs 16 lbs. She is a strong Pug and will get under your feet, particularly in the kitchen, so she can be a trip hazard.  She is crate-trained, leash-trained  house broken.  She needs to be leashed-walked because she wants to put things in her mouth like leaves, so she does not need a fenced yard.  A small tidy fenced yard is fine but not necessary.  Buttons came to us starved, so would do best being the only dog in the home due to food resource guarding with dogs (but not with people). We would prefer her forever home be one with Pug experience.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee:  $500December 26, 2024, 11:45 pm

He has NO experience around other dogs, cats, or children. He gets frightened easily. Gizmo needs someone with patience and time. He will need to go to obedience training to work on his confedience and social skills. He will need a fenced in yard He will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention prior to adoption. Gizmo is fostered in Virginia Beach VA and his adoption fee $450.00. Samantha came to the shelter as a super skinny stray, so not much is known about her. She also had some pretty severe wounds that have healed up nicely with the proper veterinary care. She is the sweetest little lady and we`re all in love with her. We can`t wait for her forever family to find her. Check out what her adventure buddies have to say after her Dog-Day-Out sleepover:`Her sweet personality makes her the cutest dog! She stands really well in the shower and will greet you with a slow waddle over after she settles in. She loves to see what you`re doing and also enjoys getting out and going for walks. She is still nervous and pulls on the leash, but with reassurance she walks well. She is scared of cars and LOVES everyone and wants to say hi! Although excited at first she settles down as a lazy companion. She can be up for fun ball chasing and walking with you outside. She is semi house trained, but will need continued training.`MORE DOG DAY OUT INSIGHTS FROM HER ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Samantha was wonderful on her Dog Day Out! We went on a 2.5-mile trail and she walked very well on a leash and was a great backseat passenger. She slept on the car ride back to the shelter after our walk. We gave space to other dogs and people while walking and rewarded her bringing her attention back to us with treats and praise. She can be jumpy and a bit mouthy when excited or curious - but with training, treats/toys, and praise she is quick to learn!
