Story
We’ve had Leo since he was 2 months old in addition to our other 2 pugs. He’s a big cuddly loving boy. Since we have a baby on the way, 3 dogs is just too much. Leo will make your day every day, like he’s always done for us.

Story
Buttons is happy-go-lucky, energetic, and friendly with people. She enjoys car rides and trips to the beach and walks nicely on a leash. Buttons enjoys playing with plush toys and a good back scratch and massage whenever you can give her one.  Buttons is affectionate and can take short walks in cooler temperatures.  She travels well in the car and is always up for an outing.  Buttons is a healthy 9-year-old who weighs 16 lbs. She is a strong Pug and will get under your feet, particularly in the kitchen, so she can be a trip hazard.   Buttons is crate trained, leash-trained and doing very well on her housetraining.  She needs to be leashed-walked because she wants to put things in her mouth like leaves, so she does not need a fenced yard.  A small tidy fenced yard is fine but not necessary.  Buttons came to us starved so would do best being the only dog in the home due to food resource guarding with dogs (but not with people). We would prefer her forever home be one with Pug experience.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Story
I rescued Bonnie when she was 1 in 2019 from a puppy mill. She had a litter of puppies too young and as a result none survived, and it left her very traumatized. For the first year of her life, she was living in a small cage with at least one other pug, this has left her with a huge fear of being crated. Her past aside she is a very sweet girl who loves to run laps around my back yard and does tricks for ice cubes. Outside time is definitely a must for her, she becomes jumpy and yappy if she doesn't get to play. Her favorite thing in the whole world is to run in circles! when she's not chasing her tail the only other thing she cares about is getting cuddles. she sits, shakes, spins (nonstop), and is afraid of windshield whippers. She has some general anxiety, especially around strangers, even after years of living in a safe home so expect a very shy pug at first but soon she'll be as sassy as the rest!
