You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well hellloww world Alvin here. I'm here with my sissy Ava. We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day. We have lots of friends here at the ranch. We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together. Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here! We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home. I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady.... I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world. Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means! My name is Ava and I am a "northern transplant". Me and my brother took a long ride and ended up at this place they call the ranch. We have lots of friends to play with and these things called humans who always want to pick us up and smooch on us!!! We let them and then we wiggle to get down and go play! They are sort of "sissies" Alvin says because when we try to nibble on them they act like we were trying to hurt them. Alvin says maybe we should just nibble on the bones on the floor and leave the humans fingers alone since they obviously can't handle our nibbles. They apparently like to be licked so we do that just to make them happy since they seem to be the food dispensers... We have sat down with the staff and told them we would like a fenced yard when we are adopted :) 2nd Chance has promised we will not go to a one dog household we want another small dog to play with if we can't stay together! ANGIE & SMOOCHIES we're recently retired from a life of breeding on an Amish farm. They are super, super friendly. They love children as the kids were their caretakers. Great with other animals – dogs, cats and are familiar at least with dairy cows and horses. Smoochies And Angie are seven years old - Unrelated, but have lived most of their lives together and are attached. We realize it's difficult one dog who has never lived in a house before and two maybe overwhelming but, if it all possible, we would love to keep these two together. They are not housebroken. They had a bad case of intestinal worms when they came in but now that is under control, they are making some progress. Both have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped And tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases. As with most pugs, they have crappy teeth and will need a dental in the future. Adoption $250 for an individual Pug, $400 if you are the angel who can take a pair. Please fill out our adoption application at www.Companimals.org. Pug or puppy mill dog experience a plus.
