Story
Beautiful Jinxi came to us from a lady that was feeding him on the streets of Los Angeles. Everything is fine until the house that he was being fed in front of decided to bring in to German. Shepherds, that thought jinxi was a food, not friend. She decided to reach out to rescues and shelters to see who could make room. We made room for this sweet boy, who had never been in home. He is absolutely beautiful. A Paris to be affectionate and good with other animals. If you think jinxi might be the one to win your heart please text 714-882-9865 and complete the application online at www.rescuemepets.com/forms

Story
Willow, a beautiful five-year-old feline with a heart of gold, is searching for her forever home. This sweet and gentle soul has a special way of greeting you at the door, her soft purrs a welcome symphony after a long day. With a calm and laid-back demeanor, Willow is the perfect companion for anyone seeking a loving & affectionate cat. She's also surprisingly agile and spry, a testament to her youthful spirit. Willow is a mother, and it shows in her nurturing personality. She's protective & devoted, showering her loved ones with unwavering affection. She loves attention & returns it with gentle head boops and loving gazes. While she enjoys her human friends, she also appreciates her solitude and quiet moments. Her son, Remy (3) came with her when I took her in after being abandoned. They are outdoor cats but I sadly can no longer keep them here. My ultimate wish is for them to find a home, and I pray they may find it together. Remy also has a profile on this site.

Story
Sophie is a 6 year old purebred ragdoll. She is kind of the perfect cat- very affectionate and snuggly. She is playful and great at hunting bugs. Sophie loves to be around people and is great with my baby. Sophie and her sister Charlie have been friends for 6 years but their relationship has been severely damaged while they were locked in a bathroom together during the fires (for quick evacuation). Sophie has otherwise gotten along famously with all cats, dogs and people. Sophie is the best cat I've ever had. I've reached a point postpartum where I no longer feel I can provide the love and care my cats need and deserve. It's important to me that they go to a loving home. Thank you for considering Sophie.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Welcome to Act 2 Rescue where you become part of our A2R family! Adoption is an important time in your life and we are grateful to be a part of it. We take pride in offering you a personalized adoption experience with continuing behavioral support as needed. -Mindy Gould, CEO Hey there, I’m Trix! A few months ago, I was surviving on the streets of Riverside hungry, dirty, and unsure who to trust. Thankfully, some kind humans took me in (twice, actually I made a daring escape before realizing I was better off inside). At first, I wasn’t so sure about this indoor life. I hissed, scratched, and howled to get back outside, but deep down, I just needed someone to show me kindness and patience.   Now that I’ve had time to adjust, I’ve learned that I love attention like, constant attention. I’ll wrap my paws around your hands to guide your petting, and if I’m feeling extra cozy, I’ll knead and suck on my blanket like a kitten. My favorite place to sleep? Right next to you, preferably sharing your pillow with a paw on you at all times.   I’m also quite the talker! I chirp, trill, and meow to let you know what I need. I get along well with other cats (with a slow and proper introduction of course). I can be a little defensive if startled, so I need a home with patient humans who understand I may flinch or playfully test boundaries with a gentle nip (don’t worry a firm “no nipping” helps me remember my manners). I’m about 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and super healthy. I have stunning light blue eyes, soft medium-to-long fur, and I may have some Himalayan or Ragdoll in me!   I need a home with experienced cat people who understand that I require more interaction and affection than most cats. Because of my history and need for slow, deliberate movements, I need a home with mature, older kids only, no little ones, please! My foster has been working on leash training and car rides, and I’m doing surprisingly well!   If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate, and slightly quirky companion, I might just be your perfect match. Let’s meet and see if we’re meant to be!   I am all ready for my new home or will be soon! Once sterilized, I will have been seen by a veterinarian, had all shots I was able to get when I was sterilized or they checked my sterilization status and microchipped!  All I need now is you! I am currently living in a foster home and am fully litter trained. Act 2 Rescue will even help you make sure I am able to integrate into your human and pet family with their behavioral coaching support during the transition period. I can't wait to meet you so please fill out an application for me today! _______________________________________________________________________  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please be aware we are a small foster based rescue in Riverside, California. Our volunteers often have other jobs/careers as well. We are not a government funded shelter and all of our donations including adoption donations are used to run the rescue and help the animals in our care. Since we are no kill, higher fees for in demand breeds help us cover critical care.  We are always in need of volunteers, donations, and fosters. Please excuse any wait times as we are often inundated with emergencies or short staffed due to the overpopulation crisis. You can learn more about us on our website or follow us here.   Steps 1-2  of the ADOPTION PROCESS must be done before we do OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS or take deposits.  To keep animals healthy,  we limit  foster based meet & greets  to people fully qualified to adopt them.   No animals can be held without a $75 deposit. Deposits cannot be refunded if you change your mind, they are to hold a cat and can result in other adopters being told they cannot adopt. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.  Application:  Log into our website and complete the adoption application at link below: Applications :  Forms (rescuegroups.org) 2. Virtual Home Check: Once your application is approved, check back if you haven't been scheduled for a virtual home check within 48 hours.  A virtual home check to ensure safety of your residence for your kitty (not perfect cleanliness). You will be told during the visit if you pass.  3. Official meet & greet with your kitty at an adoption event, foster care, or adoption center depending on location of the kitty.   We only have a few  volunteers,  so we apologize at times we fall behind due to high demand of some cats.  5. Sign adoption contract and, if appropriate, foster to adopt clause. 6. Pay adoption fee via zelle using act2rescue@gmail.com (not our phone number) or using cash. We can accept cards at adoption events but the terminal charges fees that are pretty high so it's not the best option.  7. Take your kitty home. Be sure to isolate kitty while they adjust to your home. We may check in from time to time to be sure you do not need any additional support because we love hearing how our kitties are doing. As volunteer staff, happy stories are literally our paycheck.  8. Check out our website https://act2rescue.org for resources, blogs and info on how to best take care of your new kitty. Our professional behavior coach is available via text to assist you with transition as well. We also have a Facebook group to interact with our behavior coach and other kitten care experts, as well as our A2R family like you! ****Please note, we do not have dedicated staff for phone lines so please text instead of calling. If the cat/kitten is listed, they are available. However, they could have pending applications or meet and greets scheduled. Filling out an application and approval does not obligate you to adopt the kitty. If they are not a fit...we have plenty of other kitties for adoption. This kitty has received at least two FVCRP vaccines, rabies if over 4 months, Revolution for fleas/ticks/heartworms/stomach parasites/ear mites, de-wormer, sterilization*, and microchip (you must register for it to work but it's free).  All kitties are given a general wellness check by a veterinarian prior to sterilization.  Deposits: The only way we can hold a kitty is with a non-refundable (if you decide not to adopt within 2 weeks not if we void the adoption) deposit of $75. We reserve the right to void the adoption up until the point the contract is signed. If we cancel the adoption (for kitty health or other issues) we will refund your deposit. If you wait longer than 2 weeks, we cannot hold the kitty due to space constraints. Your deposit could be used on another kitty. If you decide not to adopt at all, any deposit will go to the care of animals rescued with us and may be written off as a donation.   Foster to Adopt: Kittens must be 2 lbs or 8 weeks and fixed to be adopted. This will be noted in the approximate available date. If a kitty is unable to be fixed in a timely manner, they may foster to adopt. This would be all adoption paperwork and donations would be exchanged and the kitten would go home. Adoption paperwork will have a clause that it is not final until animal is sterilized.  Once the sterilization appointment arrives you must bring them in to be sterilized or the animal will have to be returned to the rescue. You may also have them sterilized on your own and show proof to the rescue. Once sterilized the adoption will be complete. We normally do not do these in this manner but due to extreme situations they may arise. Final health checks are done during sterilization. Any unknown health issues would also allow you to choose a different cat.   Failure to comply with sterilization will result in returning the animal to us without refund of donations. Breeds:  We cannot guarantee breed but do our best to identify possible breeds based on their appearancxe and personality. If you DNA test your furry friend, let us know the results. It is fun to see what the kitty actually is and how close our guess is. Please know not all DNA companies test for all breeds and the science is still catching up so it may adjust later to have breeds we saw. We like to know so we can improve our analysis too.   We cannot guarantee health but go to great lengths to have healthy kitties. Kitties do not live in a cattery but in private fosters for this reason.  Snap Testing: We do not test for FELV/FIV in healthy animals as it is often incorrect in animals under 6 months and can be a false positive. False negatives also give a false sense of security. These tests are best done if an animal is unhealthy to determine disease.  https://www.uwsheltermedicine.com/library/resources/why-are-some-shelters-no-longer-testing-all-cats-for-felv-and-fiv February 20, 2025, 12:52 am

Story
Tiger is a 12 year old Brown Tabby/White Cat with classic tabby stripes, a white bib and belly, four white feet, and a small white stripe down the middle of his face. He has lots of long white whiskers and although his blueish eyes are due to cataracts, he still has his vision and does not need medical procedures as he lives a comfortable and full life. Tiger is a rescue Cat from the streets who was brought inside at four months of age. He is a very friendly and playful boy who will be great company in your home and will be happy to sit and/or just hang out with you. Tiger is definitely a, ‘people Cat,’ and quickly becomes everyone’s friend. He is very affectionate and loving and has a streak of curiosity in him. Tiger’s hobbies are taking naps, catching bugs, sitting with his humans, receiving pets, looking out the windows, and being in high places (tall cat tree!) He will play with just about anything and enjoys Cat toys. Tiger tends to eat quickly, so a slow feeder would help
