Story
Meet Roberta (A210376)! Roberta is an approximately seven years young Ragdoll type kitty who is looking for a loving home at the shelter. Roberta is a sensitive soul who is looking for a loving guardian who will give her the time and patience she needs to come out of her shell and show what a loving, sweet kitty she is. Roberta lost her home because her guardian is unable to care for her any longer. She is used to living indoors only and needs a quiet home with her special someone to love. * Note: Roberta is not currently at the shelter, she is in a foster home, if you are interested in Roberta please email angela.kinn.ak@gmail.com!  All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Story
If you are looking for royalty to join your family, then beautiful blue-eyed princess Esperanza could be your girl! This princess isn't your typical royalty though. She is easygoing and unimposing, using her sweet voice to ask for both soft pets of her silky coat or to let you know that it's time to eat. Playtime for "Essie" usually involves a feather wand toy, although she also enjoys her quiet time, often spending it on a windowsill watching birds or atop the cat tree for a sweet catnap. Esperanza is a bashful, gentle soul who prefers a calm environment so a quiet home would be best. Essie has not been exposed to dogs, though with a slow introduction to a cat-friendly dog she should be perfectly fine. She is, however, used to the resident kitties so a home with a friendly, non-dominant kitty will help her blossom even more. Esperanza is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She currently lives with her foster family in Foresthill. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Esperanza please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Sharon at myfosterkittens05@gmail.com If you are unable to reach Sharon please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Story
Charlotte's life did not begin well. She was left at a shelter in her first year. Her next home didn't seem to have time for her and she spent over a year in a little bathroom, separate from their other cats, neglected, alone, miserable. A bag of dry food was on the floor. When she arrived she was matted and remote, quite shut down. Her experience of humans had not taught her to trust them. Her loving Ragdoll nature was covered over and hidden. In the ten months we have had her we have watched her inner struggle to want our attention but also to fear our attention. Finally, she has turned the corner and her Ragdoll heart is on display. She is a darling little survivor who is now ready for a happy life in her new home. You can see what a beauty she is. The contrast of her dark seal point head with her blue, blue eyes is so striking and satisfying. Her coat is fairly easy to care for. We are working to teach her that light brushing is pleasant and loving. She is not yet convinced and we are respectful of her opinions. It is clear she likes being on a lap- that was a big step in her opening to humans. It was her idea. Lottie also likes verbal flattery. While photographing her I would praise her big heart and great beauty. She would meet my eyes and respond by rolling around, showing her tummy. Just in the last couple of weeks, she has changed so much. The video I am including is taken with someone she just recently met not an old friend. Her new family needs to embrace the role of helping her come fully into her new life. It is hard to know how difficult this will be, and how long it will take. I expect she will be shy and pull back at first but I have no way of really knowing. I am looking for a patient family who will be comfortable just loving her and helping her without worrying or pressing her to hurry. You can't really push her, she'll hiss or retreat or maybe raise a paw. She has opinions. Lottie needs a quiet, peaceful home with experienced cat-loving people. She is a great cat for empty nesters. No children please, and no other cats -she doesn't like them. (I don't know about dogs.) She loves windows, cat beds, and nooks to curl up in. Lottie eats wet and dry food and is perfect with her box. She is a healthy, beautiful, young kitty looking for a safe and tender home. Some family will be so lucky to have her companionship. Lottie will be a grateful kitty and give her big Ragdoll heart to her special humans. Charlotte is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Charlotte please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. Story
Gorgeous Kovu is a friendly, loving, sweet, independent purebred Ragdoll purring machine. He is good with people and respectful older kids. He currently lives in a household with several other cats and a cat-friendly dog. Kovu is not impressed with the dog's intense interest in him, and sometimes the other cats are too interactive, which stresses him out. Kovu has anxiety /stress-induced urinary retention which has caused him at times to strain to urinate. He is litter box trained, however, he may strain to urinate if he gets stressed out. Kovu has been examined and tested by his veterinarian. He does not have Bladder Crystals, a Urinary Tract Obstruction or a Urinary Tract Infection. Kovu's condition is intermittent with long periods between occurrences. He has been litter box perfect for the past 6 months. He needs at least two large litter boxes of his own. It is important that he is strictly on a wet-food-only diet, and/or a vet-recommended diet. He is currently on Hills C/D Multicare Stress Urinary Care with Chicken. With heavy hearts, his owners have come to the conclusion that a less stressful environment is what Kovu needs to be a happy contented kitty. He will do best in a quiet household, with someone home most of the time; no other pets, or perhaps a docile friendly cat companion, as he does like to play. Kovu does not explore high places and is perfectly happy on low to medium-height levels of a cat tree. He does jump on counter height surfaces to have a better view of his 'domain'. He enjoys interactive play with feather wand toys and Churro treat rewards. He needs to be protected from plastic wrappers because he likes to chew them, caution will be needed to avoid them. Kovu is an indoor-only cat, that enjoys 100% supervised time with his owners on their patio. Beautiful Kovu is an affectionate kitty, loves to be petted and likes sleeping on the bed. Although he has some special needs to consider, he is a great cat, and with proper care will bring love, joy and companionship to the lucky adopter that receives him. Did you notice Kovu's birthday is on Christmas day? We would love to see a joyful Christmas Birthday come early for Kovu this year with a perfect adopter! Kovu is neutered, vaccinated, eats wet food, and is litterbox-perfect. He currently lives with his owner in Sacramento. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Kovu please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why?
