Story
Rio, Rio Rio! Is a beautiful girl at the perfect size. She weighs about 30 pounds so will fit just about any life style. She is food motivated with a cute happy feet approach to both food and greeting her loved people. She can be timid when meeting new people but if you let her come to you she does well. The same can be said when she meets new humans. Just chill and let her come to you. Sweet Rio has stories to tell... Like how she ended up with 3 toes on one foot, how she isn't real fond of most vets even though they have helped her and about the woman that saved her. She is healthy, up to date on vaccines, spayed and on heartworm prevention. Apply at forrescue.net

Story
Our buddy Eddie is not for everyone. But, everyone who meets him want to scoop him up, cuddle him, and make him their own!! He definitely will have none of that! Eddie is an adorable little guy but meets people on his own terms. Once he gets to know them, he's their best buddy. He's been out visiting potential adopters but has not found anyone that he wants to make his forever pet parent! He's looking for an all adult home, and would love to have a canine companion too, preferable someone calm and a bit older like he is. Most important, Eddie needs a forever family willing to be patient with him and give him the time and space he needs to adapt to his new environment. This precious pup has had so many changes in the past few months and we haven’t yet found that special person who will truly understand him. Eddie is believed to be a Rat Terrier, 10 years old but is quite active for his age, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. Eddie gets along well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company. He weighs 19 lbs. If you are interested in adding this precious boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Please note that BAARK is located in Barrington IL, and adopts only local to our area.

Story
To apply for this dog, Submit an Application at K9Lifeline.com This sweet girl is Birdie! She looks to be a Terrier mix, approximately 1 years old and 14 lbs. Birdie loves to chew on toys, but she is not a fan of chasing balls. Tough chew toys and bones make her happy! She loves to play chase with another dog in the foster home and is just as content to curl up on the couch and look out the window for squirrels and passersby. Birdie is full of love for her person. She loves to give kisses and be next to you at all times. She was skittish and frightened at most sounds and sudden movements in the beginning. She also needs time when first meeting someone. She will bark initially at the same time running around with a smile to try & get as close as she feels comfortable for sniffs and pets. She is not at all aggressive, just leery and cautious. Once she warms up, she will follow you around and want to be on your lap for pets. Birdie is crate trained and currently sleeps in the crate at night without a peep. The crate at her foster home is near the bed as she likes to be close to her humans. She would do best in a home with people that are home more during the day. Birdie was never potty trained, she's currently learning. At night, occasionally she will get restless which is her way of showing that she needs to go out. Usually before-bed potty trips take care of the need to go through night. Unfortunately, during the day when her foster mom is at work, there is an accident waiting at lunch time or at the end of the day. We are working on this with extra potty breaks. We feel this will stop if living with someone home. Birdie is not a big fan of the cold weather, who is?! But once out in the back yard, she loves to sniff around, chase after the occasional squirrel and talk to the neighborhood dogs and people. Birdie is still learning how to walk on leash, being so cold it's been difficult. We feel it is best Birdie have a home with a Fenced Yard. Birdie is such a sweet girl. She deserves to be in a home with someone that will give her the time, love and attention she needs, and she will give the same back! The donation for this dog is $370.00. That Covers Spay Surgery & wellness tests plus dogs are MICROCHIPPED and FULLY VETTED for about 1 Year. To APPLY for THIS DOG, go to our website K9Lifeline.com I am fostered near WHITEWATER, WI. If you are reading this we are still accepting applications for consideration.

Story
My name is Capricorn and I am looking for my fur-ever home. Clicking on my picture is the first step in getting to know me! Potential adopters always ask a lot of questions about me. Here are the most common ones:Q: What is your back story?A: I heard that I used to live in a home with several dogs until my owner died. Luckily the volunteers at Almost Home Foundation saved me so I could have a second chance. I am currently in a foster home with two adult humans and two doggie sisters while I wait to be adopted. Q: What was it like when you first came to Almost Home? A: When I first arrived, I was terrified of everything. I don’t know if this was just my way of decompressing or if I am just a naturally nervous dog or perhaps both. But with love, patience, and encouragement, I slowly came out of my shell. I am still nervous but my personality is starting to show, especially when I am out in the backyard. I’m like a totally different dog out there, running around and having fun.Q: Are you housebroken and crate-trained?A: Yes to both! In fact, I love my crate. It’s my own little den where I feel safe and comfortable. Q: Are you good with dogs, cats, or kids?A: I am dog-friendly. I am skittish so children would be too scary for me. It’s okay if they visit once in a while but being around them all the time would be overwhelming. Older teens should be fine. I am not sure how I would be with cats.Q: Do you chew furniture, etc.?A: Nope. Not at all. I spend most of my day curled up in my doggie bed under a blanket. I’m so quiet that you hardly know I’m there!Q: Can you be left home alone?A: Yes! Just put me in my crate with a Kong toy and a blanket and I’m a happy camper.Q: Do you need a fenced-in yard?A: Yes. I am skittish and do not potty on a leash, I will also need a secure fenced yard for potty-time. It doesn`t need to be a big yard, just a secure one.Q: What is your ideal forever home?A: In terms of a forever home, I need someone with lots of love and patience to help me learn to trust. I am not a social butterfly that wants to meet everyone. I have not been very cuddly with people but I will sometimes let my foster mom pet me. Previous experience with scared/skittish dogs is a plus but not a must. Also, an overly busy home with lots of people coming-and-going would be overwhelming. And again, a fenced yard is required.Q: Anything else we s
