Hi my name is Smokey. I am a super sweet and very active 1 year old Rat Terrier mix who weighs 11 lbs. I am so greatful to Critter Cavalry and happy to be in the care of my foster mom Dawn. I have gone through a lot in my short life. My original family adopted me as a puppy. They did not have a fenced in yard and just let me run around wherever I wanted. Well one day I did not get out of the way quick enough and got hit by a car. The people just drove off. Fortuately my family came to get me immediately. I was so distraught as both of my back legs were broken. My family spent a lot of money trying to get me well but could not afford physical therapy on top of everything else. Soon my legs began to hurt and I had trouble walking. A neighbor knew of Critter Cavalry and that is how I got here. I have had additional surgery and excelled in my physical therapy. I am now ready to find my forever home. I have a blast with the other 2 small dogs in my foster home. They played a very important part in my recovery. I want to keep my muscles strong and my hips working properly so I need a home with another small dog my age and size to be my exercise buddy. No big dogs for me please. I am scared of them and bark at them. I am a great little guy who is housebroken to a doggie door and crate trained. I love to go for walks and love to run around in our fenced in yard and play games in the house. If you are an active family and already have one little active girl or guy then you are the family for me. I have been neutered and am current on all my shots and microchipped. We named this little guy Casey, after one of the people who found him. He was running up and down a busy road and was lucky that he wasn't hit by a car. By the look of it, he's been out on his own for awhile now and he's pretty skinny. But no worries there - now that he's safe with a foster, he will start putting that weight right back on once he gets his fill of healthy food and treats. According to his foster he is a very sweet boy. Right now he's a bit on the shy side (to be expected after being on his own) but she says he is a very friendly little guy. He's already been to the vet and he received his vaccinations, and was neutered. He is estimated to be about a year old, and currently weighs 13.8 pounds. He will gain a few pounds back to bring him up to a healthy weight, but he will remain a small dog since he is believed to be full-grown. We will update his information as we learn more about him. Personality: calm, friendly, a little bit shy Good with: dogs (has not been cat tested yet) Training: Not known at this time. Estimated age: Approximately a year Weight: 13.8 pounds Medical: Up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered Location: Casey is currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. She is the total package of smart, quick to learn, and easy to love. Bonnie is a little shy when you first meet her, but we guarantee she will warm up fast. She loves to play with other dogs and pull out all the toys at the foster home. And what a cuddle bug she is who longs to be someone’s very special little girl. She is still working on her house training, but is crate trained for short periods. No, 8 hour long crate time will work for her. As you can imagine with an active dog, a fenced in yard would work best. Bonnie would also love to have her new family home most of the time because she loves her people. We are recommending that she be with an active family as she loves to see new sights and is ready for travel adventures and car rides. She is on the go and ready to love you! When you love the Jack Russell breed of dog then you try to find that pure love to adopt. Well Clyde is a very sweet dog but yet he is the shy type that will be oh so loving of a boy that will make you feel like you the most special person in the world. He is just a year old and 17 pounds and he loves to play with toys that squeak and crunch. He is an active Jack Russell breed that needs a fenced in yard so he can run around and play with others safely. When it comes to cuddles….we all love that with our dogs, Clyde gives you the best cuddles that results when you “sit” he wants to be in your lap. We will admit that he is not totally house trained and so that is a work in progress. He is crate trained as long as not being left for long hours cause of his age. He walks on a leash as amateur but worked with it. He loves to go for long walks and see new things. When it comes to feeling secure with a family, he is Ok with children who are respectable and who want to give him gentle and loving hugs. The Jack Russell breed is an active and vibrant one of colorful moods and playful antics. They can be loving and snuggly and then zooming around the backyard with the energy that you wish you still had in your body. They are invigorating and challenging to kind of up your anty so to speak. They can help you be more determined every day to be more focused and productive. We love the active dogs that bring a zest to the pace of life and an intelligence that will keep you thinking great thoughts and making great strides in life.
