Story
Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
Squirt is all about spreading joy! He is a playful young pup with a curious nature and friendly personality. While fetch might not be his thing, Squirt makes up for it with his personality. He loves to play and run around, but also loves hanging out and napping with his favorite human. He generally seems to get along with dogs. He may be a tad shy meeting new people, but give him a minute and he will be your best friend. He is an unknown around kids, but due to his size, he would be best with kids over 10 years. He’s a pro on the leash, making walks a delightful adventure. Just be prepared for some toy evisceration—Squirt’s enthusiasm knows no bounds! Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to welcome Squirt into your home and experience the joy of having a furry friend by your side! Story
Adopt Dolce: Your New Best Friend in Training! I am so sweet, watch my video.. Meet Dolce, a pint-sized terrier with a heart full of love! At just 15 lbs and around 1-2 years old with soulful eyes, Dolce is the perfect mix of sweet and spunky. She is a gentle soul who's always up for playtime. She loves making new doggy friends and will brighten your day with her wagging tail and warm eyes. While she enjoys playtime, Dolce is also a quiet little lady who’s happy to relax by your side. Dolce is working on trusting humans and can be a bit shy and timid at first, but she’s always so gentle and just needs a little patience and love to blossom. Once Dolce settles in, she’ll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. Ready to give Dolce the forever home she deserves? Mostly housebroken and crate trained, Dolce is also learning to walk on a leash. With a bit of guidance and encouragement, she’ll be your perfect walking buddy but for now a fenced yard is a requirement for this sweet girl. We wish we knew her story, but she is a young dog (she found herself in a high-kill shelter in Texas and would most certainly have been euthanized if not pulled), coming out of her shell more and more each day-will jump up on the couch to sit with you, she isn't yet fully comfortable with being picked up but will allow it- then she just melts into you, loves her scratches and snuggles. Dolce still has a way to go but looking for her hero who will give her time to become the gem that she will be. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Story
Hannah spent the majority of her life in a caring home, loved. It was explained that her owner was a dog trainer and she happened to have some “Titles” awarded. (We do not have any documentation) On the farm, where she lived, she was a very good ‘ratter’. Her owner passed, and his family who came up from FL to settle the affairs, left Hannah at the shelter, where we agreed to help find her next loving place to call home! This loyal, intelligent girl needs a gentle, calm place to land. Do you have a calm home? Are you looking for a well trained companion? Please consider Hannah. She is spayed, tested, vaccinated, on preventions, and microchipped. Email me for an adoption application : marysmutts05@gmail.com

Story
Meet Tulip. This adorable little pup was found wandering as a stray and turned into a county shelter in York, SC. That would turn out to be her lucky day. On intake, she caught the eye of a vet tech at the shelter, Sonya, who contacted Worthy Dog on Tulip’s behalf and offered to foster her. We said yes and within days, lucky little Tulip was sprung from the shelter and fortunate to get a wonderful foster home. Sonia is fostering Tulip with her pack of 4 pups and two cats, and the pups are mostly smaller in size with a broad range of ages and energy levels. Tulip easily integrated into her pack and immediately wanted all the dogs and cats to be her friends. Some dogs took a bit longer than others to accept her, but she’s officially in now and has shown great doggie skills. She plays very submissively and respectfully, and while we think Tulip is confident enough to be fine as an only dog, she would love a playmate. Sonya describes Tulip as a very sweet, social, and gentle pup. She has wonderful people skills and loves every person and dog she meets. We think she’d be great with kids and would see them as playmates and cuddle buddies. She has no issues being left home alone and has learned how to entertain herself. She will happily take a toy to her dog bed and play with it — Nyla Bones and chew toys will keep her distracted for hours. But if you call her, she will come running to play or snuggle with you. She’s a very nice balance of independent and affectionate. Tulip has spent the past month learning the rules of home life. She is crate-trained and goes right in when told, and she's getting meals in her crate to make it a positive place. She is mostly housetrained but needs to go out first thing in the morning. She tries very hard to alert people when she needs to go outside. She does pretty well on leash walks but will still pull, so a little practice is in order. We think Tulip would fit best in a moderately active home and would love a playmate. She needs her daily walks and playtime and has typical adolescent energy with moments of energy spikes, but overall she is a pretty chill little girl. This adorable pup will be coming to N. VA in early September. Apply today to learn more and welcome her home.    BREED ESTIMATE: Jack Russell Terrier Mix GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  13 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~  10-12 months COAT TYPE: Short coat ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION:  York, SC   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application.
