Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Courtesy post: Red is looking for his forever home! Please share!! About 6 years old, Redbone Coonhound. Good with other dogs, hasn’t been around cats. He is house-trained. He's a sweet, loving boy and really a good dog. He’s been through a few owners, due to no fault of his own. He likes to be with people and has some separation anxiety (though he’s currently alone most of the time so more exercise and attention may alleviate some of the anxiety). Being a hound, he does bark quite a bit, but again he's currently alone most of the time. Someone will be so lucky to get this handsome fella! (Waiting for more info on his vetting status, will update when I have that info). In New England To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any details questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Name: Duke Breed: Redbone hound mix Approximate Age: 6 years old Sex: Male Dogs: Yes Cats: No Kids: Yes 6 years old, Redbone hound mix, he is good with other dogs, no kids under 13 (he was teased by a young kids to the point he does not like them) no cats. He is leash trained, he does guard his food so needs to be fed separate in his own space. Food guarding is something that most times improves over time once a pup is out of the shelter environment and with a committed family willing to train. -Attention: all puppies will need a family committed to basic obedience training. This includes but is not limited to: House, leash, behavioral & crate training. If there is a cat in the home, it is the adopters responsibility to get them acclimated to one another. We suggest contacting a trainer as soon as possible. All dogs are fixed and up to date on shots for adoption. Link to apply: http://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html

Story
Meet our newest foster, Elvis!  Elvis is a purebred Southern Speckled Goofball but the AKC would say "English Coonhound". Coonhounds are the perfect family dog. They love to join you for long walks, help you clean your dishes and curl up on the couch in the evenings. Well tempered and fun breed.  Elvis is crate trained, knows a couple basic commands (we'll be working on more), and *loves* cats, children, and other dogs. He is currently 45lbs but should be closer to 55lbs when at a healthy weight.  Elvis is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. He has a food sensitivity to red meat. Apply to meet this handsome guy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2298876##

Story
Apply for Teensy  I’m Teensy, the exquisite Redbone/Tree Walking Coonhound mix, and spoiler alert: I'm not just pretty—I’m basically the queen of the universe! Entered this fabulous world on December 21st (oh yes, just in time for all that holiday cheer), and I come with all the bells and whistles: spayed sophistication, microchipped brilliance, and a treasure trove of age-appropriate vaccines—because, let’s face it, who said you can’t be a knockout while also being in peak health?    Now, listen up because I’m on a super important quest! I’m on the hunt for a family who can keep my nose working overtime and my brain buzzing like it’s trying to solve the mysteries of the universe. I mean, I’m not just a pretty face; I’m a canine Einsteinn, ready to take on any mental challenge you throw at me. Whether it’s those brain-bending puzzle toys, a rousing game of hide-and-seek (I’m really great at hiding… but don’t ask how seeking goes!), or just outsmarting my humans—it’s all in a day’s work for me. I dream of a family who’ll challenge me to showcase my dazzling intellect—who knew dog training could be the next reality show phenomenon?!   And let’s take a moment to chat about walks! Oh boy, if my perfect day could speak, it would definitely suggest a long, leisurely stroll, preferably with the wind tousling my fur and a nose that’s basically trying to inhale every captivating scent in the vicinity. The longer the leash? Oh, you bet that means a grander adventure! Picture it: you, me, an enchanting park bursting with tantalizing odors, spontaneous squirrel sprints, and those delightful “Oops, did I accidentally roll in something utterly fabulous?” moments. Trust me, I’ll keep you entertained—you’ll laugh so hard, you might just forget you ever had a name!   But wait, there’s more! I’m also a social butterfly extraordinaire! If you’ve got other furry sidekicks, little humans, or even a cat who thinks it’s the supreme ruler of the universe, I’m more than ready to welcome them into my fabulous party of fun! I absolutely love dogs and I’m totally down to share my toys (okay, maybe just a bit of haggling on that front) and romp around all day. If you’ve got kiddos in the house, they can join in on my training—teaching them how to unlock my secret tricks will really cement my status as the star of our show!    So, if you think you can keep up with this whirlwind of joy and are ready for a lifetime filled with adventures, snuggles, and laughter, then let’s join forces! Together, we can tackle new challenges, explore the great outdoors, and perhaps even become the best dog-human duo to ever grace the planet. Remember, I’m not just looking for a family; I’m scouting for a crew prepared to create unforgettable memories and dish out all the belly rubs a girl could dream of.  Apply for Teensy ##2305872##

EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Please help Watson, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Rides is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Watson to his new home. This is included in the adoption fee.
