Story
This dog was found abandoned and emaciated in north Georgia last August. He walked up to my friend who was at his family property. He wasn't chipped and the local shelter said they would have to euthanize him due to overcrowding. My friend took the dog home with him, but it isn’t the living situation Bevo needs. He is crated most of the day in an apartment and while he gets long walks, he needs land to run on and at a minimum a large fenced yard. Bevo is about 18 months super sweet, no aggression is neutered and housebroken. He is still all puppy and needs to be trained not to jump on people. He would be a great hunting dog or companion for a runner. My friend did the right thing saving him and knows he needs his forever home with a family who has time to give Bevo the care he needs.

Story
Merida is a sweet and loving girl who loves to cuddle. She is crate trained, affectionate, and gentle with her humans. She does get playful, and given that she is a coonhoud, she needs exercise and enrichment. The best enrichment for her is smell-based, such as treat puzzles, snuffle mats, or simply hiding treats and toys in the back yard for her to find. She gets along with other big dogs. She has a prey drive, so small dogs and cats are not a good idea. She would love a home where she could be a family member and best friend. Merida hasn't had the easiest life so far but she knows there's a home for her out there somewhere. November 4, 2024, 3:23 pm

Story
Meet Willow!   This momma has such an inspiring story. Willow was found in December after good samaritans called in her sightings with hopes she was a well-known, missing dog from the area. Food stations and cameras were set up to track Willow’s movements and see if she was in fact, the missing dog. It didn’t take long for Willow to sniff out the bait food and be caught on camera. The first picture came in and BEHOLD! She was a nursing mom. It took two weeks of following her movements and resetting the trap/food stations to finally locate her pups. Eight healthy pups laid in her makeshift den she created, warm and cozy. Outside of the den laid dog toys and other goodies that had been brought by momma from various places as gifts to her babies.   Once rescued, all Willow’s pups were quickly adopted. Willow tested positive for heartworm and was diagnosed with a cataract in one eye, making her at least partially or fully blind in that eye. This makes it even more miraculous how good of care she gave to her pups out in the wild. She made sure they all ate, were a healthy weight, and even brought toys for them to play with!   Now, it’s Willow’s turn to find her perfect home! Willow is a 2-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix who is dog and kid friendly. On your average day, you can find her chewing on bones or toys, playing with furry friends, then lounging on the couch and peering out the window searching for squirrels. She has recently learned her “sit” and “paw” commands and is starting to learn her “stay” and “come” commands. Next, we will work on leash pulling. She is such a quick learner! She is crate trained and house broken. She can be left out unsupervised while you work, and she doesn’t chew on anything she isn’t supposed to! She would love to go to a home where she can go for walks or hikes or have a furry friend to play with to get her energy out and cuddle with at night.    **Willow has not been cat tested. If interested, schedule a meet and greet with your kitty to see how they do. Willow has had all her vaccines and is now spayed! She is currently being treated for heartworm. She is a happy and healthy girl** ##2372464##
