Story
Name: Duke Breed: Redbone hound mix Approximate Age: 6 years old Sex: Male Dogs: Yes Cats: No Kids: Yes 6 years old, Redbone hound mix, he is good with other dogs, no kids under 13 (he was teased by a young kids to the point he does not like them) no cats. He is leash trained, he does guard his food so needs to be fed separate in his own space. Food guarding is something that most times improves over time once a pup is out of the shelter environment and with a committed family willing to train. -Attention: all puppies will need a family committed to basic obedience training. This includes but is not limited to: House, leash, behavioral & crate training. If there is a cat in the home, it is the adopters responsibility to get them acclimated to one another. We suggest contacting a trainer as soon as possible. All dogs are fixed and up to date on shots for adoption. Link to apply: http://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Courtesy post- Maggie is a 2 year old female Redbone Coonhound looking for a new home. She was more or less abandoned by her owner with a caring person, however she can’t keep Maggie. The person caring for her says- Maggie is very smart and loving. Has gotten along great with all dogs we have met and played with at the dog park. She did grow up with a cat but does not get along great with my 2 cats. She doesn’t hurt them but always on the chase. Maggie does need some training, will constantly jump on me and all people. Very vocal. She had been with her brother since being born until just last week. (Her brother has a home). We have interacted with small children at the dog park and she was very gentle, no jumping or pushing. That is as much as I have seen her with children. Adults she jumps up to lick faces. I have had her the last 3+ months. Every adult at dog park she jumps on. She has not had any accidents in the house until just recently when her brother first left. Otherwise she is very good. I’m gone to work every day, she makes no messes. She walks good on a leash, slight pulling but she walks a lot faster than I do. I do not trust off leash. Knows sit. She is being spayed soon and brought up to date on vaccines. In New England. Story
EJ is a fun, young hound. He needs someone active, with a big outdoor life that will take him on adventures. He is affectionate and loyal to those who show him love. He would prefer to be the only dog as he doesn't like to share. He is not good with cats or other smaller animals or small people. He really wants to be a working dog.   For more info about EJ and our adoption process please enclose your phone number with your inquiry or call Jacki at 941-587-4612. November 2, 2024, 2:03 pm
