Story

Danner is a 1 year, 5 month old handsome red boy. This smiling boy weighs approximately 55 lbs and is the sweetest, gentle but playful boy you will meet. He has one of the saddest stories. This sweet boy was on death row. He was set for euthanasia in April of 2023, as a 3-month-old puppy. An amazing person pulled him from the euthanasia list, but with no rescue backing or help, they just wanted to make sure he wasn’t euthanized. Danner has patiently waited over a year for his forever family. He has grown up in a home he didn’t know wasn’t his forever one. He gets along great with other dogs and doesn’t even mind cats, he does NOT have a high prey drive. Danner’s favorite activities involve laying around in the house, playing with toys and being free in the yard to sunbathe or just run around and stretch out. This awesome boy is a diamond in the ruff. He is so calm but entertaining, just wants to be in your arms and get lots of pets. He will be your most loyal companion, your shadow and your best friend. Danner will follow you around everywhere he can if allowed. He is not a leader, and would do fantastic with another dog in the home to be friends with or to learn how to be a true house dog. He is mostly crate and house trained. Danner would do great with a medium active household as he loves his walks, would do great on shorter runs (he has never been on a run, but he could get the hang of it!). He would thrive on going on adventures and exploring the outdoors. He is still a puppy at heart and does need proper training and stimulation to make him the best version of himself. Danner has waited over a year for his home, please help us help him find it. Adoption fee includes: Spay or neuter, current negative heart worm test, current parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella (kennel cough), rabies vaccination, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormer, microchip, health certificate from a veterinarian, and transport costs from Texas to the East coast.

Ellen is a lovable, goofy 12 month old Hound mix. She is a riot to watch because she’s still trying to figure out how to use her legs without being so clumsy. Everything is new to her so she is very curious when she encounters unfamiliar sounds and people, but she’s definitely intrigued. **She does have a lot of energy once she feels comfortable and a fenced yard where she can run around would be best. She will definitely need patience and a family that is energetic and active. If you work from home, even better** She loves other dogs, big and small, and may be ok with a dog savvy cat that’s used to putting a dog I. Their place. Her favorite thing so far is going to the dog toy bin and taking out each and every toy to test. She loves running around and playing with her foster sister in the back yard. She is really giving our Catahoula a run for her money. After playing outside, she is ready to come in and take over the couch or bed. She also likes to go for car rides and sits nicely to look out the window, although she is still learning how to jump in and out of the car. She would do great in a house with or without another dog. She would be great for a family that enjoys the outdoors and wants a pup to hang out with on adventures. She is just learning to walk on a leash and is currently being crate and house-trained so patience and consistency will serve her well. She is so deserving of the best home. adoption donation : $750 weight 45 lbs Age: 1 year Tippy has the distinction of being the favorite dog at the rescue and there are A LOT of dogs! Tippy is sweet, friendly and playful and very smart. Tippy gets along with everyone he meets, he loves to play with the other dogs at the rescue, he follows his foster mom around, tail wagging. If she calls him, tippy comes running! Tippy absolutely loves water, he spends his summer days splashing in and out of the plastic baby pool! Tippy was relinquished to the rescue when his family moved away and wasn’t able to take him. He has had his vaccination and has been neutered and isa healthy and happy boy who will make a wonderful companion to the lucky family who adopts him. Please note that Wags of Monroe county is a struggling 501(c) 3 volunteer organization where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Wags desperately need to raise funds to help the sick and older dogs at the rescue. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. He will never shed! 😍 Gomez is already crate trained and is showing great progress with house training. He eagerly awaits your arrival home and has a slight habit of getting overly excited, but he quickly settles down. Gomez is an overall calm and well-behaved companion, who loves nothing more than snuggling up with his person on the sofa to watch television. He is incredibly friendly towards cats and other dogs, making him a great fit for multi-pet households. However, due to his exuberant nature, it's recommended that he be placed in a home with older children to prevent any accidental knocks or bumps with toddlers. Gomez is neutered, microchipped, and UTD on vaccinations.
