Meet Allegra, the rottie! This spirited gal had a pretty rough start in life but has been a staff favorite and is ready to romp on into her next home and 2nd chance. Staff report that she enjoys her walks out in the world and then decompresses nicely during office time – she loves a good squeaky toy and is good at entertaining herself. Allegra is participating in “Walking Buddies” – a dog enrichment program where Shelter dogs go on walks with other dogs out in the world. She also has a budding romance in the Shelter with Lobo (a white male husky, also up for adoption). Allegra also enjoys connecting with people and learning with treats and toys as reinforcement. If you are looking for a rott-of-love, come meet Allegra today!Allegra`s adoption fee has been sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
