Story
BRANDI is ready for her forever home! She is about 72LBs, sweet and friendly once she warms up and feels comfortable. She is selective with dogs and prefers male dogs. We think she would do best in a home with just one adult or with a couple. Brandi is a great dog, but needs some training and exercise, and a safe place to call her own. Decompression time and a routine is really going to help this girl shine. She will make a great companion for someone with Rottie experience. Brandi is a 3 year old with a docked tail. ADOPTION DETAILS: Each dog is spayed, neutered, (unless medically on hold) up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped. ** At this time, due to the size of our rescue, adoptions are limited to NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA and +/-6 hours from Raleigh, NC. ADOPTION FEE: Our total adoption fee is $300, including a non-refundable $25 application fee. Fee can be paid using the "DONATE" button on our website (www.RottweilerHeartsRescue.org) - please indicate in the notes that it is for an application fee, and the intended dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Abby is a stunning Rottweiler that is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 65lbs.  After a rough start in life, she is now searching for her forever home.  Abby was never socialized properly prior to finding her way into  Best Friend Pet Adoption.  She has since been through an intensive 8 week positive training program and did very well. Feedback from her training program is that Abby is loyal, loving, and eager to please. She is very food and treat motivated. She loves to work for her food!  Abby enjoys her nosework training to enrich her life.   Abby is now being fostered by an experienced dog person who has continued to work with her training and confidence.  She is crate trained, leash trained and house broken.  She needs a fenced yard and ideally some additional walks during the day. She has been crated for up to 4 hours.    Abby is currently living successfully with two male Rotties with low energy.  She will not do well with high energy dogs and   would do best as an only dog with an experienced, responsible owner.  Having previous experience with Rottie's would be beneficial.  Abby would not do well in a home with cats or with a first time dog owner.  When around new people, Abby prefers to be ignored and then will approach and engage with them.   Abby has lived with kids and would be ok with older children 12+ that are able to respect boundaries. Could your home be the right fit for Abby?   She has come a long way from her miserable life before Best Friend Pet Adoption saved her.  Could you provide a wonderful life for Abby?  She will give you plenty of love in return.  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Abby and her 6 puppies were surrendered to a rural shelter in August 2023 when the puppies were only 4 weeks old. Animal control did a welfare check and found Abby living outside in a pen with a huge sore around her neck from an embedded collar. One of our volunteers wanted to help immediately and agreed to foster Abby and her puppies. The puppies have all been adopted and now it is Abby's turn to fine a wonderful home.     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    Applicants ideally should  live no further than one hour from Cary NC.  For the right match for Abby, we will consider applicants who live further away if they are willing to travel to Cary to meet her.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ABBY? Story
Meet Rex! He is very shy when you first meet him, but will love you if you give him a cookie! He is about 8 months old and he loves to PLAY! His favorite games are tug-of-war and fetch! He also loves to play with his foster brother! He would love it if his new family has another dog that loves to play just as much as he does! After playing the day away, he loves to curl up on the couch with his foster mom and ask for all of the belly rubs.He is very smart! Since getting to his foster home he’s learned his name, how to sleep in his crate at night, most commands, and been potty trained! He is still learning not to jump for attention, so a home without young kids would be best.***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog. In the event one lucky dog receives multiple applications, please know we do not select based on a first come basis. We try our best to select the best-fit for our animals and families. ***

Story
Rango is neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!!Rango is our resident toy inspector. He loves to investigate his toys and then share his findings with his favorite humans. He loves to go on adventures and walks very nicely on a leash. He is a smart pup who has already mastered "sit" and knows how to take his treats with a gentle mouth. He is looking for someone who is up for teaching him new things and going on lots of adventures! His previous adopted stated he is house trained and good on walks but was not a fan of the resident baby. He did nothing wrong other than growl, but better to be safe. A home with older children, or no children, would best set him up for success.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Rango 255617".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. Primary Color: Black Brown Weight: 66 Age: 2yrs 3mths 3wks

Story
Hi there, my name is Cookie! I am a friendly and affectionate pup who loves eating yummy treats and making friends! The shelter can be a bit overwhelming for me, and I appreciate when people take things slow with me at first to allow me some time to warm up. But once I have warmed up, I would love to be your best friend! Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.I am currently available in my foster home. If you are interested in meeting with me, please fill out an interest form https://airtable.com/shrWv1TWfsw834pBdMy adoption fee has been fully sponsored.Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!

Story
INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Gunner is so very sweet and loving, he has been so lovely to have around. He loves being outside and going for walks, but he equally loves just being with you. He has been around teenagers and done really well with them. We can`t comment on younger children, as we haven`t had that experience. We didn`t know much about his past, but he definitely responds to directions and is respectful of your request. From being around him and observing him, we would say he`s been in a family environment and really enjoys the company. He’s a great addition to any household. He is very sweet and has been gentle around everyone who has come in the house. He is super aware of strangers and does bark at first, but he soon gets past it. He does pull on leash and bark when he sees other dogs, so he could use some training where that is concerned. He would do better in a house where someone is home most of the day (at least during an adjustment period for training), he can be anxious about being left alone. Overall, he’s a lovable, cuddly puppy.`Like all pets going into a new home, Gunner will need slow, monitored introductions to new people or pets. Visit this page for more information about properly introducing pets in a home.

Hello all! This is Cannela and she came to us when her owners could no longer care for her. Cannela is reported to be good with people and is an energetic, fun gal! Cannela has a tendency to want to explore many places & due to this, we recommend that she be adopted into a home with a fenced-in backyard so that she can frolick safely. We do not know how she is with other animals, so as always we recommend slow and monitored introductions between Cannela and any other animals in the home. Come meet this sweet girl today!
