She was rescued last May near downtown Dallas, found alongside her sister at just three weeks old. Since then, she has been part of our family. Esme is crate-trained, potty-trained, and well-mannered. She sits on command and won't touch her food until you point at her bowl and say, Go. She has a deep love for music and is mesmerized when a new sound catches her ear. She enjoys playing with her sister, but it's time for them to find separate forever homes. Esme thrives as a one-dog household pet, as she can become territorial around other dogs, especially when food is involved. Because of this, we encourage her new family to consider aggression training to help her feel more confident and secure. Above all, Esme is a cuddle champion who loves to snuggle and be close to her people. She is incredibly affectionate and easy to love.

Besides being a handsome dude with freckles on his nose, this is one fine dog! Milo is a one to two year-old 60 pound boxer mix that was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter through no fault of his own. He was found by a trucker that realized he couldn’t keep him because of his lifestyle. Milo needs someone that has time to love on him and in return Milo his loads of love to lavish on you and your family! He also needs someone to play with him. He responds to his name and comes when you call him. He sits for treats and takes them relatively gently. The surrender form stated that he was both an inside/outside dog and that he was good with dogs and children but not with cats. He’s happy, friendly, energetic, playful, and alert. The surrender form also said he was good with other dogs, and I also noticed that he didn’t have a problem going through the bay. He walks well on a leash. Milo is patiently waiting for you.

Montana is easy to love. She is a volunteer fave. She is an 8 yr old 71 lb Doberman with beautiful coloring. She arrived at the shelter on 2/3, adopted briefly by a loving family on 2/15, but returned on 2/28. During her time at the shelter, she was fearful and would shake in her kennel, and she would move to the back of her kennel if she saw a leash. Its heartbreaking to see such a beautiful soul has been through so much in her life. Its understandable the noise in the shelter does make her uncomfortable too. She has so much potential, hopefully the right adopter will see that. She will need time to decompress, with plenty of TLC to build up her confidence. It would be best for her to be with kind and patient adults, with no children in the home. Being an only pup would help her confidence too. When she is leashed she walks ok on a leash. She sits for treats and takes them gently. Montana likes to stay close and seeks affection. She wasn’t interested in meeting other dogs and walked past them with no issues. She likes toys but can be very protective of them. She is sweet, calm, gentle and well mannered. Can you please offer her a loving home where she lives indoors with a secured backyard to stretch her legs in? She has a beautiful soul, come meet her.

We adopted Marley when she was just a tiny puppy. Now, she’s a whopping 9 years old! I wouldn’t recommend her to families with young children, though. She can be a bit rough around the edges with toddlers. She’s never actually attacked anyone, but she does get a bit impatient with them. In her free time, she loves to lounge around. As she’s gotten older, she occasionally has accidents when she’s lying down, but she’s still house-trained. Unfortunately, we’re moving and won’t be able to take her with us.
