ROCKO is a 1 1/5-year-old playful and active boy. Surrendered because of his behavior towards other dogs, Rocko is house trained and good with kids. We are recommending a home with no other dogs at this time based off his history in his previous home. He does not like cats. Rocko is big and strong and when he wants to go, he will pull you! Daily training would benefit him as he gets used to his new family and you get used to him! This friendly and joyful boy can be yours if you come out to VBACAC, 341 S Birdneck Road, VB. We are open daily 12-5 pm.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:25 pm

Story
*Update - Dallas was adopted but returned after a nip to the adopter. Acclimation to a new home and family (especially a Rottweiler) takes weeks to months. He needs a patient family to take their tome building a relationship and taking things slow as he adjusts. Ask us for more information on his learned history from the recent home and strategies to help him settle in.  DALLAS is a new resident at VBACAC. He is just about 2 years old and a big boy weighing at 100lbs. We even know his birthday, April 22, 2022. Dallas was surrendered through no fault of his own but instead housing issues. He has lived with 6-year-old children with whom he was friendly and playful. Dallas was allowed to roam free in his home when left alone. He also loves his own doggie bed. He is house trained and loves to play with any kind of toy, balls, frisbees, squeaky toys, and tug toys. He is used to being walked a couple times daily and enjoys car rides and adventures.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:25 pm

Story
They say there is someone for everyone in this world. And at the Shelter, we like to believe that for our dogs as well. And we cling to that thought for our dogs as it gives us hope. And sometimes, hope is all we have for them.Such is the case with our beloved Odie Cakes. He is an amazing dog - fast, perceptive, adorable, loving and devoted. But, he also is very prey driven. And sometimes, when he gets overexcited, he reacts quickly, without thinking.Odie found a home but the atmosphere was just a bit too much for him. Despite the best efforts of the adopter, he realized he could not slow down the pace of his life enough to calm Odie. The BEST news is that since being back with us, Odie has been fabulous. He loves all the volunteers, he has a pal in our Finn (with just through the fence play) and he greets each day and each person with happiness.Odie's days are very calm and predictable at the Shelter and that's what gives him the calmness and peace he needs. Odie doesn't need constant activities or other dogs - Odie just needs a person who will live life with him in a somewhat boring manner. We know Odie's person is out there somewhere. He is so loved by us all and we want nothing more for him than to live his life in happy home. Please SHARE Odie's story so we can reach as many people as possible - maybe his forever person has been searching for him and just didn't know Odie was waiting at our Shelter!Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
