ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13694Meet Picasso!Estimated DOB: 05/12/2024Current Weight: 8 lbsBreed: Shar Pei Mix - low sheddingEstimated Adult Weight: 40-55 lbs (approx.)Mom is a 47 lb sweetheart.Available: 7/8/24About Picasso:Picasso is an adorable little pup from our Artist Pups litter. With his silky ears, brindle coat, and lovely wrinkles that accentuate his eyes, he may have the most beautiful brows a puppy has ever had. This Shar Pei mix is sure to steal your heart. With his extremely short coat he will be low shedding, too.Personality:Picasso is a sweet and affectionate puppy who loves tug toys, playing with other pups, and is very interactive. He might be a bit of a toy hoarder—we are not sure yet, but it adds to his charming character. This guy is full of fun and interaction, loving to chase, run, and tumble. Yet, he also enjoys quieter moments, happily holding his toy next to you while you read a book or watch the latest documentary on Netflix.See us in action here:Activity center playJust like his namesake, the painter Picasso, he is curious, innovative, and spirited. Picasso the pup shows a playful creativity in how he interacts with his environment, making every day an adventure. His keen awareness of his surroundings and his lively nature make him a joy to be around.Training:Picasso is at the perfect age to begin his training journey. He’s bright and eager to please, making him an excellent candidate for basic obedience training and housebreaking. With consistent positive reinforcement and a bit of patience, Picasso will quickly learn new commands and behaviors, growing into a well-mannered and loyal companion.Ideal Home:Picasso would thrive in a loving and active home where he can receive plenty of attention and exercise. He would be a great fit for families, singles, or couples who have the time and energy to dedicate to his upbringing. A home with a yard or access to outdoor spaces would be ideal for his playful nature. He would also enjoy the companionship of other dogs.Health:Picasso is a healthy young pup and will come microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations and deworming. Regular vet check-ups and a balanced diet will help him grow into a robust and healthy adult. Please note that Picasso is so young, he has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that his immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, he MUST stay out of public places where he could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for Picasso’s medical safety and longevity. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic, and delightful new family member, Picasso might be the perfect addition to your home. Apply today and see if he’s the furry friend you’ve been searching for! Please keep in mind that Picasso is searching for...Someone who won't leave him home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until he is older. The older he is, the more he can stay home alone. He just doesn't want you to get mad at him if he has accidents or chews things he's not supposed to when you leave him for too long. He's a puppy, so he gets bored quickly and when he's bored he could get in trouble. He is looking for his forever home, not his for-right-now home. So as he gets bigger, he needs someone to teach him how to be the best dog he can be. He is young and still learning. You may want to teach him some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help him bond with you. That sounds like fun!
