Story
Mileena is almost 2 years old. She is very well behaved. I would like her new home to have a yard for her to run around as she has endless energy. She’s crate trained and knows it as “her room”. She’s familiar with the very basic commands but is treat motivated and willing to learn. She’s a real goofball. She loves a good belly rub. She will follow you wherever you go. She has not been exposed to young children as our kids are young adults. She thinks cats are made for chasing, so cat free is suggested. She would benefit from a family that has time for her as she needs her confidence boosted because she will pee on the spot if she feels she’s in trouble (i.e. fussing or loud talking). She is still mouthy. She doesn’t husky howl and talks very little. She will only eat if you are sitting near her.

Story
Fantastic companion! Loves walks, fetch, and couch cuddles. Not a barker! Pretty high prey drive, so wouldn’t recommend homes with cats or chickens or rabbits. I adopted Crest from the Humane society 1.5 years ago. He was just over 1 year old at the time. He is crate trained. I have always crated him when i leave the house, but he has always slept with me overnight. Crest would love an active home. He finds a lot of joy in hiking and playing, and just regular dog walks. I think he is best with older kids due to his medium size, speed, and levels of excitement. He is very smart and eager to learn. He enjoys being brushed and just general interaction. Unfortunately, my work schedule is pretty unreasonable for the next year and I cannot provide him with the home he deserves. Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to look for someone who can do better. He really is wonderful, you should meet him, you will surely fall in love. He follows his sit, lay, come commands with ecollar.

Story
Name: Greta Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 3 years Best Guess for Breed: Husky/Pomeranian Mix Weight: About 40lbs Lives With: Dogs and people! Housebroken? Greta is potty trained! Story: Greta was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Greta is a sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. Once she gets comfortable with her space and humans, she’d love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Greta is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Greta will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Greta says "adopt me, I'm cute." This sweet girl is looking for a quiet home with a couch she can cuddle on. She'll form a close bond with her humans and would prefer some that are home more often than not, though she'll hang in her crate while you're at work. Greta sleeps in her crate too, but prefers to do so in the same room as you. She's great on walks and is becoming interested in squirrels and rabbits, but doesn't pull. She likes sniffing around the backyard and belly rubs. She’s a super sweet girl who is just looking for a family to love her. The fee to adopt Greta is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in his foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Greta has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health. If you think that Gret might be your perfect match, apply today!March 4, 2025, 12:39 pm
