Story
Shilo is my name. Hebrew in origan, Shilo means “Tranquil or Peaceful One”. Right there says it all!     Said to be initially Shy and Timid, I had little socialization due to being a breeder surrender. While in Rescue, I’ve grown in personality, playfulness and trust through new experiences provided by a caring volunteer team.   At a healthy 6 years of age, about 25#, I still have spring in my step, like to go for walk, play with toys, other dogs, cats, kids and adults. I also am calm and well-mannered and completely house trained. Heck, I don’t even bark! Though many of my breed are aloft to people, give no affection, content to be independent and enjoy only their own company, I’m one of the few that are affectionate. After a day of play, I’m even good to Lay in YOUR LAP to give and take love! We Shiba Inu’s were initially breed in Japan for hunting.  Just look at my photo, you see hues of Red, Golden, Orange, Chestnut and White with deep dark eyes. Our size and coloration make us look like a well-fed fox! With this said, a 4 foot fence will be required to adopt me for my safety. So, with all the said Positives about me, guess you can see why it’s a POSITIVE to adopt a Mature Gal! No puppy stage, still years of love to give/take and ready to hit the road, trail or just lay around. I’m Shilo, and I’m ready for the next chapter of my life! Are you? To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:23 pm

Story
Are you ready for adventure, to hit the “Back Country”, take it “Down Hill” or just “Free Style” it with a new best friend? Well, let me tell you, I’m Aspen and I’m the one to help you get those “Snowy Vibes”! Your not going to “Wipe Out” if you adopt me. Though a mere 15# and 9 months, I’ll make “First Tracks” on our walks. I’m no “Novice” when it comes to walking on leash. I’m also potty trained, keeping a clean “Training Camp”. But I'm only 1/2 a team. My bro Yukon, 20#, and I have not been seperated since birth. Together we are a "Full Team" and would LOVE to be adopted TOGETHER. I must admit, he is a COOL dude. We were surrendered with “No Dedications” or cause on our part. Together you would have “35” pound of loving, playful and the most “People Pleasing Pooches” Ever! Being Shinu Inu, we do have a fuzzy red/golden/orange/chestnut & white coat that resembles a Fox, so a 4 ft fence is required so we don’t “Drift” away and get shot for a fox. We are both VERY OUTGOING after initial shyness is over. We are great with other dogs and people of all ages, young or old. After a day of play, we are ready to “Wipe Out” on your “Lap”. So come on bring in the fun and festivities. I’m Aspen, your kind of “Snow Bunny” who will “Fall like Fresh Snow” onto your heart. Aspen - smaller, girl, 15# Yukon - larger, boy, 20# We’re spayed/neutered and ready for homes. If you think you’d like to meet us, please email mollysplacepets@aol.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:23 pm

Story
Yukon Canada is considered the BEST region in Canada for outdoor fun and adventure. Well, I’m YUKON of Pennsylvania and considered the BEST little Shinu Inu for snuggling, hugging and just having a good time! I’m an outdoor/indoor fun loving 20#, 9 month little boy that loves adventure then ready to sack it in for the night. Friendly, well let me tell you. I just love other dogs and people “Of All Ages”. Shy at first meet with 2-leggeds, once warmed up I’m as good as “YUKON Gold”! I walk on a leash, am kennel, crate and “House” Trained. Yes, I keep a clean “Tundra”! My sister, Aspen, is also looking for a loving home. We have never been separated and hope to remain together for life. I must admit, she is a CUTIE PIE, for a girl. We were surrendered for no fault of ours. Aspen weighs a petite 15#, so together you would have “35” pound of most loving, playful and “People Pleasing Pooches” Ever! Being Shinu Inu, we do have a fuzzy red/golden/orange/chestnut & white coat that resembles a Fox, so a 4 ft fence is required so we don’t amber off into the great outdoors and get shot for a fox. Want to “Light up Your Life” like the Aurora Borealis? I’m Yukon, a little boy with a HUGE personality who is looking for love. If you think you’d like to meet us, please email mollysplacepets@aol.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:23 pm

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Toby, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. Toby is a Shiba Inu. For more information about the breed Shiba Inu, please visit https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/shiba-inu/ to read more about the breed before applying. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
