If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Dominic, and I am a sweet senior Shih Tzu boy who is 9 years old, and I weigh 13 pounds. I am very social and love other dogs so a sibling to learn from would be ideal. If you have been waiting for a sweet Shih Tzu, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Dominic 080824-05  November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm

Highlights:needs another more confident dog already established in the homeMeet Chloe, a dainty 10.8-pound Shih Tzu with a nervous but gentle demeanor. Chloe isn’t quite ready to seek out human attention just yet, and sudden movements can make her uneasy. While she’s friendly at heart, she’s a bit of a challenge to catch in the yard as she enjoys her independence.Chloe is very calm and composed around other dogs, finding comfort in their presence. She’s starting to show a fondness for chicken treats, which will be a helpful tool as she continues to build trust and confidence. When Chloe is happy, she does the sweetest little prance that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. This lovely girl allows petting once she feels safe, but she’ll need time and patience to fully come out of her shell. Chloe is looking for a calm and understanding home where she can grow and thrive at her own pace. Could she be the one to add a little prance to your life? Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Highlights:needs another confident dog already established in the homeMeet Angel Eyes, a 13.6-pound Shih Tzu with a curious and inquisitive nature. While she doesn’t approach humans for pets just yet, her love for other dogs is undeniable. She finds comfort and companionship with her furry friends and would likely thrive in a home with another confident dog to help guide her. At night, you can often find her snuggled up with her kennel mates—a sight that’s as heartwarming as it is adorable.Angel Eyes is highly treat motivated, and her love for chicken is a great way to build trust with her. Though she’s still nervous about being picked up, she’s making strides in learning that humans can be safe and kind. This sweet girl is looking for a patient and understanding family to help her continue her journey toward confidence. Could Angel Eyes be the perfect addition to your home?-----Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
