Story
Rocco is 10-12 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He's an equal opportunity lover of dogs, respectful kids and any human who will be his friend. He's an outdoor enthusiast who needs a fenced yard to safely enjoy his adventures. His favorite pastime? Being by your side! Since his beloved owner went into hospice care, Rocco thrives best with someone who’s home often. Rocco has some vision and hearing loss and may need a hand with stairs, but his spirit is unstoppable! Sometimes he barks for no reason but a little distraction does the trick. While we believe he’s housetrained, we use a "male wrap" (belly band) just in case. He’s not on any medication and his recent bloodwork and vet notes show he's doing fine for a senior! We are looking for a "Forever Foster" for Rocco. We'll supply everything Rocco needs for life – all you need to do is provide a loving home, just like you would your own pet. We’re looking for a family within a reasonable distance from Barnegat, NJ, so he can visit our vet in town. In the alternative, if you would like to adopt Rocco as your very own companion, we are absolutely open to that! And so is Rocco! Meet Micah! He’s a 6-month-old, 7-pound Shih Tzu with a big personality. Micah loves to play and gets along great with other dogs, making him a fun addition to a multi-pet household. Due to his small size, he’d do best in a home without young children (under 10 years old). Micah is still learning the ropes of house training and to trust his human but with a little patience and consistency, he’ll get there. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion, Micah is the pup for you! Micah is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Randall, Shih-tzu, White and Tan, Male neutered, 8 years old Randall is a very friendly boy who loves attention!  He enjoys going on walks and likes to play with toys too!  Randall doesn’t seem to mind the company of other dogs or cats.  He does have some chronic health issues, including a history of dry eyes, and skin infection, so he needs a family that understands his medical needs.  If you would like more information about Randall, please call the shelter, 732-657-8086.   **This dog is at the Ocean County Animal Facility North located at 615 Fremont Ave, Jackson NJ (off of Hope Chapel Rd).  All dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and have age appropriate shots.** To adopt our dogs you must come to the facility with your entire family, including dogs, to meet with our staff and the dog you are interested in.
