Story
Harley is a shi ztu/daucshend mix that is roughly 10 years old and still has all the energy in the world, she is energetic loves to bark play tug of war and cuddle on the couch or bed and snuggle up with anyone, I'm Fostering her and her brother my other dog BoBo, who is about 12 years old and just as energetic as her if not more so, I've known and grown up with both these dogs since I was 10 years old and they have no problems around kids/adults I would love to have them both rehomed together if an adopter is willing and capable of giving them the love and care they need.

Story
Teddy is an adorable 3 yr old, 13 lb Shih Tzu.    He is an active and athletic Shih Tzu. Teddy will make a great companion for a devoted walker, as weather doesn’t affect his love of a daily brisk walk.   He needs a home where someone is frequently around, as Teddy prefers to be with his person and will happily keep you company wherever you go.   With just a little patience as he adjusts to his new home, this little guy will warm right up. He’s a young, small dog who is quick and will dart for an open door, so his adoptive home needs to be prepared to manage him around outside doorways. Teddy needs to be only dog, since he likes all the attention and all the treats! The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500November 4, 2024, 1:54 am

Story
Evie is a 4 yr old, 12lb Shih Tzu. She is new to our rescue, so we are still learning about her personality. Evie is crate trained and learning housetraining & leash walking. Before she was rescued, Evie lived with other dogs in a very small area, so this girl likes to race around the yard. She doesn't appreciate sharing the lap of her human but will lie with other dogs and play in the yard with them. We aren't requiring her to be an only dog, but she can be a little jealous when another one gets the attention she craves. Evie follows her foster mom around and stays close; she prefers to be with her person, so she would not do well being left alone for extended periods. She hasn't shown interest in toys, but we feel she didn't have that opportunity before we rescued her. She really enjoys running around her foster mom's yard, so we are requiring the adoptive home have a securely fenced yard attached to their home. Although she is only 12 pounds, she is very quick, strong, active, and a trip hazard. Evie is not a "couch-potato" Shih Tzu. Evie is affectionate and will bond tightly and fiercely with her forever family. Story
Meet Murphy! This lovable and spirited 12-year-old Shih Tzu is packed with personality and charm. He’s a devoted companion who thrives on attention and loves nothing more than curling up for a snuggle. With his adorable snores and affectionate nature, Murphy is guaranteed to bring warmth and joy to his perfect match. At home, Murphy is house-trained and enjoys his independence, often entertaining himself with his favorite toys. He knows how to fetch—but in true Murphy fashion, he adds his own twist by turning it into a fun game of chase. His playful spirit and silly antics will keep you smiling! Murphy is happiest as the star of the show and would thrive as the only pet in the home. He prefers to have his space (especially around food) and isn’t a fan of sharing it with other dogs, but what he lacks in canine friendships, he makes up for with unwavering loyalty to his humans. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be your one and only, Murphy might just be your perfect match! Murphy has an adoption fee of $300. If you’re interested in adopting her, please email us at petassist@hopeanimals.org This is a courtesy listing, meaning Murphy is not part of Hope Animal Rescue’s foster program. We cannot attest to her temperament or suitability for your home.

LOCATION: DURHAM, NC ADOPTION FEE: $200 PLEASE DO NOT SEND AN EMAIL ASKING IF PET IS STILL AVAILABLE, THOSE EMAILS WILL BE DELETED. IF INTERESTED YOU MUST COMPLETE OUR APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE, WE DO NOT RECEIVE APPLICATIONS FROM THIS SITE. WE DO NOT CHARGE A FEE TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION OR REQUIRE SEPARATE APPLICATIONS FOR DIFFERENT DOGS WE MAY HAVE AVAILABLE. PAISLEY is a 9 yr old spayed female SHI TZU. She is WHITE and weighs about 8- 9lbs. This baby girl needs a home that someone is retired or can spend tons of time with her. She is THE MOST LOVING little one we've had in quite some time. She is spayed, groomed, will potty outdoors but much prefers her pee pad (taught from her owner) We don't use a crate, unless we take along trip. Paisley is heartworm negative, dewormed, rabies, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. So a little about her background, we got her from a protective custody situation. Her owner was 88 yrs old, got her when she was only a puppy. Loved her to no end, took THE BEST care of her. She became ill with cancer and her best friend and neighbor of over 70 yrs helped with shopping and driving. They were both widows, and married friends from the service, the two couple did everything together, including building homes next to one another. Fast forward, the owner had 3 so called grown kids in their 50's all with addiction issues and once she became very ill they all moved in with her, but not to care for Mother as you would suspect, but to take advantage and spend her money. Time goes by and the neighbor sees her friend less and less. She wakes in the wee hours of the night of a bright light shining in her bedroom. She looks out to find the 3 adults kicking this poor girl, Paisley off a deck more than 20' off the ground out into the yard like a football and then toss her back, laughing and having a grand time. She calls the Sheriff Dept, they come out, but the worst has yet to be discovered. The Deputy smells a very strong odor and has reason to enter the home to find THEIR MOTHER was deceased and had been several days. All 3 were arrested, two got out quickly, one didn't as they has previous warrants. The neighbor offers to keep the dog, thinking that was the end of it. But it wasn't. She takes Paisley to the vet to find they has shattered her optical nerve in the right eye. About a month later as she was returning from shopping and taking Paisley to the groomer, she comes home to the Fire Dept at her home and her home has been set on fire. This story goes on and on. But the bottom of it is,the 90 yr old lady was so scared of what may be next and not sure who set the house on fire, she asked our rescue to please take this baby and save her. We took her but couldn't do anything other than foster for quite some time. She is now ready to move to her forever home and get the life she had with her owner and live healthy. Paisley is so loving and will be in your chair before you are so you both can get comfy. She requires sleeping on the bed with you. You will need to put her up there as she is only 9lbs of pure joy, love and a little sassy to go with it. This baby LOVES our 10yr old grandson. He can't walk in the room she doesn't sit with him. If he's outdoors, she will watch him at the door if he's nearby. She is good on harness and leash. She is great for the groomer, she goes every 2 weeks for baths, on the 6th week she is groomed. We never leave her outside alone. Anything could happen, hawk, coyotes, fox, due to her small size and this is very true for daytime as well. She has learned stuffed toys are the best thing ever and she loves to play with them in the morning and late evening before bedtime. She loves riding but it does take her a few minutes to settle in and then she is fine. She is great with two large dogs here, and 8-10 small ones, still larger than her. She is the boss and keeps them all in line. Paisley has developed some allergies so she is on a small amount of apoquel. We recently started using a different food and lessening the apoquel and she is doing awesome. So we think with diet change, she may be able to discontinue the meds. This family will miss her tremendously, she has grown on us. But we take them in to love them, teach them, and rehabilitate them if needed and find them a forever family. I will be very picky of who adopts this baby girl. She has been through the mill and I only want the very best for her. Her fee is $200. We do not ship animals, nor do we hold animals. If you aren't ready to adopt now, please do not apply until you're ready. We are all volunteers and you will need to be patient as we get your application processed.(up to 14 days, not including Sunday) PAISLEY is being fostered in Durham, NC. You must be willing to drive there for pick up at adoption time. Please do NOT complete an application on this site, we cannot retrieve it and we never charge for completing an application. Meet Mila and Mason – A Special Bonded Pair Looking for Their Perfect Home! Mila and Mason are two of the sweetest, silliest pups you’ll ever meet! Despite their unconventional mobility, they don’t let anything slow them down—especially when it comes to playtime, snuggles, and their endless love for each other. This bonded pair shares an incredible connection and must be adopted together. About Mila and Mason: Mila is the feisty, mischievous one. She loves to antagonize you (in the cutest way possible) until you finally give in and play with her. She’ll nudge, bark, and army crawl her way into your heart with her infectious energy. Mason is the easygoing, goofy counterpart—he’s smart, gentle, and a little sneaky when it comes to food. In fact, he’s mastered the hilarious trick of picking up Mila’s food bowl with his mouth and placing it on top of his own, as if to say, “Two for me, none for you!” Mila has a bit more mobility than Mason and confidently pulls herself along with an adorable army crawl. She even makes her way to the pee pads when needed. Mason finds movement a little tougher, but with a little help and his belly band for support, he’s happy and comfortable. What Makes Them Special: Built-In Best Friends: These two are inseparable, keeping each other entertained with their playful antics and offering comfort when it’s time to rest. Endless Entertainment: Mila’s spunky, playful spirit and Mason’s goofy charm make them a joy to be around. They might not run, but they sure do find ways to make every moment fun! Cuddle Champions: When they’re not causing adorable chaos, they love curling up together (or with their favorite human) for snuggles. Simple Care Routine: Their daily care is easy—morning cleanup, Mason’s belly band, meals, and a little stretching time for Mason to keep him comfy. No Major Medical Needs: Despite their limited mobility, Mila and Mason are not on expensive medications and do not require major medical interventions in the foreseeable future. Daily Life with Mila and Mason: These two LOVE spending time with their people and getting fresh air outside. They’re mentally sharp, incredibly curious, and full of life. They adore other dogs, find joy in the little things, and have hearts full of love to give. Mila and Mason don’t need pity—they need a family that sees them for the resilient, hilarious, and loving pups they are. They may not walk like other dogs, but they live just as fully. If you’re ready to open your heart to this special duo, they’ll repay you with endless love, laughter, and cuddles. Only one adoption fee for both to ensure they stay together! Age: 9 months Size: Tiny! Just 7 & 8 pounds and will stay small. Very easy to care for! Are Mila and Mason the perfect fit for your home? Apply to adopt them today! Please apply at pipsrescue.org/adopt and it you have questions please email nicole.k@pipsrescue.org ##2217837##
