Story
Teddy is an adorable 3 yr old, 13 lb Shih Tzu.    He is an active and athletic Shih Tzu. Teddy will make a great companion for a devoted walker, as weather doesn’t affect his love of a daily brisk walk.   He needs a home where someone is frequently around, as Teddy prefers to be with his person and will happily keep you company wherever you go.   With just a little patience as he adjusts to his new home, this little guy will warm right up. He’s a young, small dog who is quick and will dart for an open door, so his adoptive home needs to be prepared to manage him around outside doorways. Teddy needs to be only dog, since he likes all the attention and all the treats! The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500August 5, 2024, 4:49 am

Story
These adorable shihtzu mixes are looking for their home! The pups are active and playful. They get along well with dogs, cats and kids. They came to us after they were surrendered to the shelter due to the owner not prepared to handle skin issues that had developed. It had caused some discomfort and hair loss. However, following treatment, their hair is growing back and they are doing great. They weigh between 5-7 lbs; and we don’t expect them to get much bigger than 25 lbs. Given their young age, they are not yet housebroken so they will need an adopter prepared to take time to aid with this. They will need someone able to take them outside frequently during this process. The adoption fee is $450 which includes a microchip and spay/neuter surgery once old enough, as well as age appropriate vaccinations through adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application online through the link at the bottom of https://www.julietshouse.org/online-adoption-applications *All in our program are assumed to be mixed breed as none have had genetic testing. They are designated based on characteristics observed and noted.
