Story
Bonded pair alert!! Meet Wonder Bread, and his absolute bestie Robot! Wonder Bread was rescued originally from Southern IL in a high kill shelter and thankfully made his way up to Chicago to find a forever home. Wonder Bread is a floofy, sweet, and somewhat reserved kitty who is learning to love toys and pets in foster care. He has especially grown since meeting his foster care best friend Robot. Watching these two and their friendship blossom has been wonderful as they like to cuddle together, groom one another, and even follow each other through the house or run to each other for support if they get nervous. They are so excited to find a forever home together! Wonder Bread likes many types of toys including wand toys and cat nip toys. He also likes to adventure and see new spaces and cozy spots. You can also find him watching out the window at the birds and cars in the alley. He is also a food motivated guy and loves wet food and churu treats! When he wants to tell you something, he also has the squeakiest little meow. Wonder Bread and Robot are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Ideally, they would love a home that is quieter and has some experienced kitty owners to welcome them through the big transition into a forever home. They would prefer a home without dogs or young children. This pair cannot wait to get to know their future family and transition into their forever together! Fostered in Chicago. Story
Toast, aka The Brave Little Toaster, is a gorgeous flame point Siamese boy who is ready for his very own family. When he came into foster care this summer, he was very depressed, scared, and shut down. With love and patience, Toast has blossomed into the most confident, happy sunshine kitty. He deserves to be loved and cherished every day of his life, and is so excited to meet his forever family. About Toast: Toast is still learning "to cat" and definitely needs some friendly kitty friends in his forever home. He would be happiest with at least one other kitty of a playful disposition and age. Toast wants to enjoy all of the happiness in his new life! He loves to groom his kitty friends and show affection with kisses and snuggles. He also loves to wrestle and he is very playful. Toast has not been around young children or dogs in his foster home. He may not be a good fit for dogs, but with gentle hands, he would be fine with children. He's a gentle kid and even when he's scared, he doesn't act out; he'll just hide. Toast has made great progress to becoming a confident and playful cat, and he is making more progress every day! With continued love and patience, he will become more confident and surprise you with even more cute personality traits. For example, Toast did not know how to play at first. However his kitty friends in his foster home have showed him the joys of the scratching post, cat nip, tunnels, Amazon boxes, Yeowww bananas, and even how to play wrestle and chase. In his new home, he may hide for a few weeks until he smells all the smells and understands he is safe. After all, he has only recently learned that he can trust humans. After that, he will show his belly, purr constantly, and sleep in bed every night. He also LOVES to talk, and is very chatty--especially around meal time! The good news is that he loves to sleep in bed with his human and kitty friends, and sleeps through the night happily. He likes to purr and sleep on your feet! Toast also has a very freckled nose, and ice blue eyes, which we think is super cute. He loves to be brushed and has even started to accept head scratches and full body pets. He wants love so badly from his human friends and is still learning how to trust. With this in mind, a rescue minded family would be best for Toast. He will need patience and understanding, and he will show you trust a d happiness, in his own time, in return. He is an absolute gem of a kitty. Story
It’s Simon! The sweetest, shyest but bravest cat you’ll meet! Simon is a beautiful Siamese cat who will put on his bravery medal and take the risk to explore unknown corners of your house just so that he can find you for cuddles.  Simon is looking for a calm household that can understand his chill vibe and respect his need for a safe space to go where he can relax in comfort. He has spent time with children and other cats, though his favorite cat is his brother Marlo, who he's bonded to and who needs to be adopted with him. He hasn’t been exposed to dogs. Once he feels comfortable, he becomes more playful and will frolic around with a wand toy in between cuddle sessions with the nearest human. Coming from Kentucky, this young boy was lifted out of everything he knew and needs time to adjust to the cold Midwest. BUT, his most precious story is how one day, when his foster mom fell asleep in a different bedroom, he was sad and lonely and though he had rarely ventured out of her room, he braved the dark halls and strange noises to go look for her so he could get his cuddles in. And now, since his little excursion, he has become so much more courageous and comfortable coming out to explore the whole house! He does need to know that his original room is available for when the newness becomes too much. With the love from his foster family and the support of his brother Marlo, Simon as started to bloom.  If you bring Simon into your home, you will be repaid with a long-term companion who shares unconditional love. He will keep you warm on winter nights and keep you company on a warm summer afternoon. Simon is looking for his forever human family so he can snuggle up with you on the couch for years to come. Will it be you? WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL LOCATION AS WE ARE A FOSTER-BASED ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO BE IMMEDIATELY CONNECTED TO A SCREENER. Story
Juno is a siamese cat that was rescued from a local hoarding situation. She came to AHF pregnant. Due to Juno’s young age, she miscarried. Even though she lost her kittens, Juno bonded with cutie, Tortellini. They love to play, run around the house, and cuddle together on chairs, couches, and pillows. The kitties just want to be in whatever room their humans are in, but they are still gaining confidence with being held or carried. They do enjoy being pet and being played with using feather and ribbon toys. These kitties are territorial, so they need to be the only cats in a home. They do get along with a calm dog. This curious, playful, and sweet pair deserves the chance to find a loving family to foster or adopt them, so they can see what real love is. AHF is looking for someone who is patient and cat-experienced to take in these beautiful cats.Juno is bonded to Tortellini and they must be adopted together. Story
Parmesan is a gorgeous Siamese kitten and the most curious kitten of her litter. She likes other cats and is brave with her greetings of new cats. She’s very playful, so a home that will play with her and provide her with many toys is a must. She rarely meows, so if you like quite kitties, Parmesan is your girl! She loves snoozing in her strawberry cave during the day or on a soft blanket. Parmesan can be elusive when she reaches top speed while playing with her siblings or chasing her toys. She has a silky cream coat with silver points and beautiful blue eyes. Her hair is medium length with charming gray boots. Parmesan is the leader of the litter and loves to go on walks around the kitty enclosure with her twin brother, Aioli. They make quite the pair, exploring every nook and cranny with boundless energy and curiosity. Together, they bring a delightful dynamic to their home, ensuring there`s never a dull moment.Parmesan also has a gentle side. In the evenings, after a day full of adventures, she enjoys cuddling up with her human companions. Her purrs are soft and soothing, a perfect end to a busy day. Adopting Parmesan means welcoming a bundle of joy, curiosity, and affection into your life. She`s not just a pet; she`s a friend, a companion, and a source of endless entertainment and love. If you`re ready for a lively and loving addition to your family, Parmesan is waiting to meet you with her bright blue eyes and a heart full of adventure. Parmesan has to be adopted with her brother Aioli. This is a Pay It Forward cat.
