Story
Little stray boy brought in is how I came in. Not a super exciting grand entrance but hey, I know that this is the best place for me to find a family. I may appear a little hesitant at times, it’s just that I’ve gone through so many changes in my short life. I get along great with my roommates, we have so much fun together and this makes me happy. Some gentle petting is of course always welcome. I’d love to go home with one of my friends. Second adoption fee is 50% off.

Story
Paula Birthday: September 16th, 2023 Sex: Spayed Female  Breed: Domestic Shorthair Traits: Good with adults that have experience with cats, unknown with dogs Fee: $150 . She comes vet checked, spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed! About Me : Paula was found living under a friend of the rescues 4 seasons room. Once we caught her, we quickly realized she was definitely someone's pet at some point as she was very friendly towards other people. No owners ever came forward around that area. Paula is very nice 95% of the time, but sometimes if you over stimulate her she will turn around and nip. We think that someone had her and did not like this about her and put her outside. She was very skinny outside and wasn't doing well and she really does enjoy people, but she is a princess and you gotta follow her rules.  She does not like other cats so far while in our care. Paula is very food motivated and treats and food will make her your best friend. We have had 2 vets look at her and one said she is 1 year old, and the other vet said she was under a year old. We understand she is a pretty cat, but she is going to need a very special and understanding home. We want to make sure wherever she goes will follow her rules so this doesn't happen again to her. She will need to go to a home without children or other cats. Probably not dogs either, but we have not had any dogs around Paula yet. Once an application is approved, we will require a meet and greet with her to ensure it is going to be a good fit.  If you are interested in adopting, scan the QR code or visit linktr.ee/guttercatadoptions to find our application. You can also email guttercatadoptions@gmail.com with any questions. An online application must be filled out to be considered.   August 16, 2024, 12:37 pm

Story
Athena, a sweet and affectionate Siamese cat, was rescued from a local hoarding situation. She arrived pregnant and soon after gave birth to adorable Tortellini. Although she has been a wonderful mother, Athena is now eager to embark on her next chapter with her new family.Athena enjoys being around people and adores belly rubs and playtime. While she is sociable with humans, she prefers to be the only cat in the household. She is tolerant of calm, laid-back dogs, though, and children.Athena is chatty and enjoys expressing her thoughts. While she's not a lap cat, she delights in snuggling up next to you on the couch or bed for pets. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be your best friend, Athena is the perfect match for you. Could you be the one for her?Almost Home's Adoption Requirements:Be at least 21 years of ageHave the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the householdHave approval from owner of residence (written in lease)Have a valid ID with current addressBe approved as a suitable adoptive home by Almost Home FoundationBe ready to make a lifetime commitmentLive in the suburbs surrounding Chicago (Illinois Residents only)Pass a veterinarian reference check for current and past pets.Adoption payment cash, check or Zelle onlyIf you are interested in Athena, please complete an online adoption application at www.almosthomefoundation.org or email cats@almosthomefoundation.org.*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***

Story
Juno is a siamese cat that was rescued from a local hoarding situation. She came to AHF pregnant. Due to Juno's young age, she miscarried. Even though she lost her kittens, Juno bonded with cutie, Tortellini. They love to play, run around the house, and cuddle together on chairs, couches, and pillows. The kitties just want to be in whatever room their humans are in, but they are still gaining confidence with being held or carried. They do enjoy being pet and being played with using feather and ribbon toys. These kitties are territorial, so they need to be the only cats in a home. They do get along with a calm dog. This curious, playful, and sweet pair deserves the chance to find a loving family to foster or adopt them, so they can see what real love is. AHF is looking for someone who is patient and cat-experienced to take in these beautiful cats.Juno is bonded to Tortellini and they must be adopted together. Story
Hi, my name is Quincy! I arrived at AHF with my sisters (Prissy & Missy). I am told my blue eyes are one of my cutest qualities. Who am I kidding, I am super adorable and I love to talk to my foster mom and lay on her lap between meals. If she's busy and I can't get on her lap, I love to jump up on her back and lay on her shoulder. She tells me I'm a loving stud and I would love a home with another young kitty or one of my sisters. If you are ready for a loving companion, I am your boy!Almost Home adopts kittens under 6 months of age in pairs, as kittens that young are not fully socialized and need a same/similar-age playmate in order not to become a nuisance to family members-including other pets in the home. Adopting kittens in pairs allows them to complete the kitty socialization process, learn good kitty manners, and have a playmate so their humans can sleep at night. We consider adopting single kittens to applicants who have another young kitty under 1 year of age, provided the applicant's kitten is up to date on all age-appropriate vetting.Almost Home's Adoption Requirements:* Be at least 21 years of age* Have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household* Have written approval from owner of residence* Have a valid government-issued photo ID with current address* Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Almost Home Foundation* Be ready to make a lifetime commitment* Live in the greater Chicagoland area (Illinois residents only)* Pass a veterinarian reference check for current and past petsIf you are interested in Quincy and one of his siblings, please complete an online adoption application at www.almosthomefoundation.org or email cats@almosthomefoundation.org.*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***
