NAME:ThelmaSTATS:Female, Silky Terrier, 2 years, 10 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Playful, but not overly so.Needs to be WITH ANOTHER dogBonded sisterSKILLSDoing great with potty training.Crate trained.Good with dogs.Likes walks, but not great for hiking.Good with cats but does chase them if runningMORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Likes playing with other dogs.Suggest training (basic manners). She is somewhat stubborn; but easy to correct behaviorsONE LAST THING:Thelma likes to be her own boss. She likes to cuddle with you on the couch, Sleep in bed with you and loves her walks. If you can not find her in the house, look in the backyard. She likes to Explore and protect her surroundings from squirrels and cats. She is often looking for her sister Louise to play with or snuggle with. She likes to hang out in the office when you work from home. Thelma and Louise like to do zoomies and play together but Thelma can be a little bossy with Louise.Thelma loves her walks but is reactive to other dogs/people. From her behavior, we think she was left in the yard as you really need to make sure she has potty breaks and reward her for doing right. If you miss her cues, she will go inside.Thelma and Louise were left behind when their owner moved away. A nice Rescue lady in Stockton took them in when they saw the owner never came back for them. Sounds like they lived most of their lives in the backyard. Now they are pampered little princesses.December 28, 2024, 3:11 pm

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 11th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.       Adoption Fee: $700   Lumi is a 4 year old Shih Tzu x Poodle mix who is ready to light up the world for her forever people! Lumi was rescued from a local shelter. We don’t know how this gorgeous girl landed in the shelter but we know her next chapter will be nothing short of fabulous. Lumi weighs 18 pounds and has a soft, non-shedding coat. She is an option for those with allergies and will require regular grooming to maintain her gorgeous appearance. If you’ve been searching in the dark for your new bestie, let Lumi turn on the light!      Lumi is a super loving and adorably goofy Shih Tzu mix who will charm your pants off with a wink of her puppy dog eyes! She loves her cuddles and is always on the lookout for her next snuggle opportunity. Lumi is a total velcro dog who wants to follow you wherever you go! On a walk…. to the park… to the bathroom, you name it! Lumi is very smart as well and is adaptable to the schedule of her people, as long as she can take plenty of naps! Naps are key to the care and keeping of Miss Lumi. Our gal is a total couch potato and would be the perfect WFH companion for a day of Zoom calls. Lumi is easy going and will fit into just about any home. Her party trick? Giving hugs and showering you in kisses for hours at a time! Lumi can’t wait to join her forever home and show them how to slow down and enjoy the finer things in life with you!  Lumi wakes up around 8 AM, but is happy to sleep in as late as you’ll let her! After she goes out in the yard, she gets a quick walk before she’s served breakfast. About 90% of her day is spent lounging on her bed as she keeps an eye on her foster mom. Shih Tzu lovers will not be surprised to hear that! Lumi gets a walk again in the early evening before she has dinner at 5:30 PM. She spends her evenings in the family room with her foster people, soaking up all the cuddles and kisses they have for her. She goes out for one last potty and then heads to her crate for the night around 10:30 PM.  Lumi would prefer a home where she can be the solo object of your affection and adoration. She tends to stick close to her people, so she won’t be a great option for a home with a busy household. Lumi walks very well on the leash. She is working on her potty training and crate training. If you’re excited to bring some light and cheer into your holiday decorations, adopt Lumi today!      Lumi is an only option for homes who have owned a dog in the past. Kids should be over the age of 15.January 9, 2025, 3:02 am

He has journeyed to many local coffee shops and loves people watching from his foster mom’s lap. Dunkin is also an amazing host, dazzling newcomers with his temperament, wagging tail, and cuddly demeanor. Dunkin is also super smart and very food motivated, which makes teaching him new things a blast for everyone involved. He would love a playmate in his forever home as he has a ton of playful energy to spend. His foster says he is one of the best fosters she has ever had the pleasure of hosting. He is a true gem who is ready to make his lucky new people so happy for years and adventures to come!  Dunkin starts his morning between 7:30 and 8:30 AM with some cuddles and a treat. He eats his breakfast and then heads out on his morning stroll. He trots along for 30 minutes and then comes home for a well-deserved nap. He has dinner at 6 PM and then settles onto the couch for some serious snuggles and love. After one last potty walk at 8 PM, he heads into his crate for the night around 10 PM.  Dunkin gets along very well with other dogs, especially those who like to play. He loves meeting new humans. He is working on his leash walking skills and performs for cookies! He is house trained and crate trained. He is basically the perfect pup who knows what a gem he is. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $750   Kringle is a 6 year old Maltese x Miniature Poodle (Maltipoo) who is ready to bring the holidays straight into the New Year! Kringle was rescued from the shelter just before the holiday season began, with a matted coat and a need for love. We promised to give him the TLC he needed and whisked him to the groomer who gave him a brand new ‘do! Kringle weighs 11 pounds and has a gorgeous non-shedding coat. He will require regular grooming to ensure his coat stays fluffy and fabulous. Ready for some Christmas in January? Adopt Kringle!      Kringle is the happiest and most amazing dog on the planet. From his happy little dances to his love of snuggles, he lives every day to the fullest and brings light and laughter to every room he enters. Kringle loves all the finest things in life and discovered the couch quickly, especially the part where all the soft blankets are piled up. He just wants to be near his humans and show you how amazing he is. Kringle is super smart and picks up on things quickly, which makes him an amazing buddy for potential ongoing training. It’s hard to believe he’s an “older” pup because he loves to play and show off uis zoomies. Kringle loves his plush toys and is always down for a game of fetch or his favorite “flinging himself into the beanbag chair”. You will gain a new appreciation for the little things in life with how Kringle sees the world. That’s his promise to his new family!  Kringle wakes up around 8 AM… but he is happy to sleep in as late as you’ll let him! He does his happy dance when you come to let him out of his crate and lays down for a belly rub. He goes out first thing to potty and then comes inside for a nibble of breakfast (but he’s more of a brunch guy). Kringle spends his days romping around the backyard, cuddling on the couch with his humans, and generally being the best dog in the entire world! He gets dinner around 5:30 PM and eats at the same time as his humans, which he loves. For the rest of the evening, Kringle curls up on the couch and soaks up all the belly rubs and snuggles he can. He goes out one more time to potty before heading to bed around 10 PM.  Kringle has lived with other dogs and loves them! He has met humans from young to old and charmed them all from minute one. Kringle prefers backyard time but walks well when he goes out. He loves the car as well so he would be an amazing addition to any adventure! Whoever is lucky enough to adopt him will be the luckiest family in the entire universe!      Kringle is an option for any home, regardless of prior experience. Kids should be over the age of 5.January 9, 2025, 3:02 am
