Story
My name is Sugar and I'm looking for a lifelong bff to be the spice in your life. Im a 3 yrs young pure bred Silky Terrier. I've heard I look like a Yorkie. Pfft! They wish... just at these fancy ears. Vidal Sassoon himself would have been in awe. Speaking of my hair/ fur.. I'm what they call very low to no shed meaning I won't shed all over your ~ahem.. our pad and you and our guests won't have to play Benadryl shot games. I have my own opinions and a bit of a spicy side, but once you've won me over I'll be your ride or die. Speaking of rides...I love car rides too..all I want is to be loved ,cherished ,belly rubbed, and hanging out the passenger side of my best friends ride... Toys and squeaky balls are favorites along with treats and naps. Hurry up and get your application in. Our adventures await! Note from foster mum: Sugar is a wonderful 17 lb Silky terrier that can be a little spicy with new people at first, but warms up quickly in a calm home. She may not be well suited for a home with small children as she can be fearful and snippy if uncertain. She's done very well with other dogs given the rt introduction and supervision since she is small and can be fearful at first. Sugar walks well on a leash. She is currently learning kennel training, but prefers to sleep in the bed with you. She is potty pad trained and will go outside as well, but is still firming up her skills. Sugar rides in the car perfectly. She can be a chewer with prized doggie chew things like remotes and reading glasses. Those need to just be set up higher than her little legs can reach and redirect her with her toys. Her adopt fee is 500 local to the San Antonio area and 700 out of state.

These pups are in Golden Valley, Minnesota too!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Morty, the charming Maltese on the lookout for my forever home. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Squeaky toys are my jam, and I'll happily gather them in my favorite bed for a play session. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll devour treats, fruits, and peanut butter like there's no tomorrow. While I may not be a fan of the kiddos under 12, I'm still working on mastering the art of potty training. I'm a quick learner, though, and with a little patience and consistency, I'll get there in no time. At night, I sleep quietly in my kennel, but I might get a bit chatty when I hear someone stirring in the morning. Now, about those stairs—I'm still getting the hang of them. I prefer homes with minimal stairs to spare my precious knees, but don't worry, I don't mind being carried. And if you lay out a trail of rugs on those slippery floors, I'll be forever grateful, especially in the kitchen where I love to supervise meal prep. In a nutshell, I'm cute, snuggly, and full of personality. I adore cuddling on the couch and striking my best playboy pose when you want to scoop me up. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend like me, let's make it happen! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! My name is Jean, and I'm a timid and loving 6-year-old female Maltese Mix with a lot of love to give. I weigh around 13 lbs, making me the perfect size for snuggles and playtime. Let me tell you a bit about myself! I absolutely love being outside and running around in a fenced yard. Toys of all kinds are my favorite, and you'll often find me playing with them happily. When I'm not playing, I enjoy relaxing and soaking up some sun. I can be a little shy, especially when there is overwhelming commotion or with quick motions, but once I feel comfortable, I open up and show my sweet and loving personality. I'm potty trained using both a potty pad and go outside, I will need a little more practice in my forever home to stay on a routine. I'm also crate trained and know the command for "kennel/crate" as well as a command for "outside." While I enjoy my crate, I do prefer being out and about with my humans. A fenced yard is essential for me because I'm not leash trained and can be fearful of new things, making me a flight risk. I don't need to be placed in a home with another dog, but I do love human company and would thrive in a home where my people are around most of the time. I only bark when I'm alarmed, so I'm generally a quiet companion. I'm very sweet and loving, and with a bit of patience and understanding, I blossom into a wonderful, loyal friend. If you're looking for a gentle and affectionate companion who will bring joy and love to your home, I'm your girl! Love,  Jean *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, my name is Calvin and I spent my early years not in any sort of inside, family-style living so this is all new to me.  So forgive me if I am a little skittish or nervous occasionally.  Especially when we first meet.  I do the same thing when outside of the environment I’ve grown accustomed to but I’m working on that and would do best with a home that will be patient and understanding.  I admit, I’ve growled at people when my stress level is over the top for me but I haven’t ever snapped or bitten anyone. But for now, maybe a home without small kids would be better as commotion, loud noises and men seem to make me more tense. I don’t have too much desire to play right now as I’m still trying to get accustomed to life in a loving environment.  I’m low key but I ventured out a bit this week and actually played with a toy!  Hold your applause! I don’t really have a fur bestie so I can be an only pet if you’re home most of the day.  Why, you ask?? Well, I tend to have lots of conversation with people and like to voice my complaints to the peanut gallery often (bark bark).  I am crate trained but that darn potty thing is a bit trickier.  However, when you keep me on a good schedule, I feel I’m close to making it happen! I don’t require a fenced yard either, as I’m working on my leash skills.  Granted, it’s got more work to be had but we can do it!  I have put my noodles together and with lots of practice, I know “sit, come, kennel, outside and go potty!” I’m food motivated which is why my noodles are functional. Don’t think you’ve missing what you want to know.  I wanted to wait to tell you but this kid right here loves to cuddle!  I’m super sweet (with a bit of sauce).  Once I know you’re one of the good ones, I am always happy to see you know will run right up to you looking for pets and loving!  So, what are you waiting for?!  Let’s get this loving on the road!!
