Story
Sienna is a female Maltese mix around a year old. She is spayed, current on age appropriate vaccines including rabies & microchipped. She weighs around 8lbs. Sienna originally landed at PACC after being taken in as a stray. When she arrived at Pathways, she was terrified & unsure. It took her a couple weeks to learn she was safe & come out of her shell. Now that she is comfortable, she is a happy, playful girl who gets along with other dogs, loves toys & is learning to like being picked up/held. We are unsure about cats. We do think she would do well in a low-key, slow traffic home while she adjusts, again, to a new environment & routine. She is working on potty training & will use potty pads. She will need to go to a home with a secured, attached yard where she can learn to walk on a leash/harness safely. ABOUT GIDGET: This girl is half of a bonded pair. Gidget and Gizmo have been together for years and depend on each other. GIDGET's ORIGIN: This sweet girl was left homeless with her partner, GIZMO, when her owner went into a nursing home. They are presently living in a foster home but need a permanent home, soon. HEALTH: We had her vet checked, shots updated and her teeth cleaned 7/16/24. GIDGET's PERSONALITY: Remember, this is a major lifestyle change for her. So we are looking for an adopter who is patient and gentle with her and lets her become more comfortable with your home. She rarely barks unless there is a new person entering the house. She is a good car rider and walks well on a leash. She seems potty trained, but we rarely guarantee this because all home environments are different. RORESCUE NOTES: We are looking for an "forever" adopter who will give GIDGET and GIZMO a safe loving home and keep them "forever" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FYI, there is NO public funding that helps Rescue Groups with veterinary expenses. We use our own vets and we pay them thru adoption fees and donations. Lately, veterinary fees have escalated, making it harder and harder to offer affordable adoption fees, but we try. Please be considerate when deciding to adopt a "Rescue dog". ALL RORESCUE DOGS are vet checked, spayed/neutered, dental cleaning (if needed), microchipped and UTD on shots. NOT DONE: Full blood panel/Valley Fever/Tick Fever/Heartworm testing is NOT customarily done, unless veterinary suggested RoRescue adopts their dogs as INDOOR pets, with sufficient supervised outdoor exercise time. RoRescue requires a secure yard and safe environment for this dog. We do NOT adopt to out-of area or out of state locations.
