Story
Molly is a STUNNING 7 year old, 124 lb purebred Saint Bernard. Rescued from a puppy mill after a life as a breeding mom, this girl could not be sweeter! She is wonderful with other dogs of all sizes, goats, donkeys, horses, and even chickens. Although she initially didn't know what treats, toys, or beds were, she has learned all of these wonderful things and is food motivated. She is playful and extremely loving! True to her breed, she is loyal and gentle but is startled by young children, so she needs a home with kids over 14. She adores her humans, loves to be pet, and thinks she is a lap dog! Best of all, you don't have to bend down to reach her! Molly is housetrained, great on leash, comes when called, and is working on basic commands. She rides well in the car and enjoys being outside but is just as happy to hang out indoors. This soulful girl is extremely quiet and doesn't get into things in the house. Molly had surgery for entropion but is still on eye ointment. You won't find a better or more deserving girl than Molly! Molly is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home. To Adopt (or foster-to-adopt), please complete the adoption application here: https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application To Foster, please complete the foster application here: https://anewchancear.org/foster/fostering-application/ Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Huck is a yr old and weighs about 45 lbs. He is happy to meet people, plays really well with others & is very submissive in his meeting of new furry friends. He's a goof ball at heart and will make you laugh at his facial expressions. He is working on his house manners & will need some more training because he still likes to jump up for attention. Little ones that fall over easy might get knocked over in his excitement, but older sturdy kids should get in line to adopt this sweetheart because he is going to be the more fun best friend a kid could hope for. He is smart and treat motived so training him will be really rewarding. Huck is an all around great dog and he is going to make a great addition to his new family. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Dottie is a sweet St. Bernard mix weighing in around 50 pounds. She is approximately 2-3 years old. Dot Dot as her foster folks affectionately call her was found the first week in October of 2023 along with her 4 pups. She was in sad shape, and it has taken 6 months to get her healthy. She is fully vaccinated to include bordetella, been treated for heart-worms, started on monthly heart-worm preventative, and has been spayed. She is playful, yet also calm. She is good with other dogs. She currently lives with 3 other female dogs. She is house trained and crate trained and has NEVER had an accident in the house. Dot knows the commands “sit”, “kennel” to get in her crate, “stay back” to not rush the door, and “down” when she gets excited and I want her to be calm. Dot comes when called. She enjoys riding in cars and on ATVs. She has never offered to chew on anything that’s not a dog toy. Dot loves the outside and spends most of her time on my front porch. Dot’s only con is that she loves to chase cats, but all 6 of our cats are still alive 6 months later…she just chases them and I haven’t been able to break that habit. She walks well on a leash with a regular collar, but I do use a “pinch collar” when I think we may encounter cats or other wildlife. She doesn’t love a bath, but she gets in the shower to be bathed without much fuss. I believe Dottie was likely just left to her own devices in a pen or on a chain before we found her abandoned on a rural dirt road. So she has had to learn to be a pet, but I think she is really enjoying the process. I would not call her food aggressive, but maybe food possessive…which I believe is a holdover from her not getting regular meals. I feed all the dogs in their own spaces to avoid confrontations and to make sure they all get what they need. Problem solved. She has come a long way and will make someone a loving and loyal pet. However, Dottie is currently being fostered in Georgia. She would love to make her way up north to a forever family.
