Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Nipsey  finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   To know Nipsey is to love Nipsey! Ever so eager to share his own endless love, the easygoing 1-year-old brown beauty is 50 pounds worth of sweetness who thrives on his fosters’ affection, cuddling and snuggling with them, having his belly rubbed and then executing his version of the ranger crawl. Equally sweet and gentle with other dogs and a sweetheart with the two resident teenagers, he also loves going for walks, walking excellently on leash, engaging in active games of tug-o-war, chewing bones and playing with toys. In fact, he especially enjoys taking all of the bones and toys out of their container, watching his fosters retrieve and replace them, then removing them one at a time and playing with it for a few seconds before retrieving the next one! Fond of all treats, very food motivated, highly intelligent and eager to please, Nipsey knows “sit,” and is crate trained and almost fully house-trained. Now all Nipsey needs is an adoptive home as laidback and loving as he is, perhaps with another playful pup already there, to complete his training, including his commands, and keep him content, both mentally and physically, fur-ever.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Meet Salome, a vibrant and affectionate dog who’s ready to find her forever home. Salome is great with people and has a loving personality, but she’s very reactive to other dogs, so she would thrive in a home where she’s the only pet. Salome is house-trained and has no medical concerns. She was found as a stray and is now looking for a new family who can provide her with the love and care she deserves. She’s an adventurous spirit who loves exploring, going for walks, and hitting the trails for hikes. If you’re seeking a loyal and playful companion who will thrive in a dog-free environment, Salome is eager to share her zest for life and become a cherished part of your family.

Story
Meet Tiger, an energetic 8-month-old Staffy mix pup with a zest for life! Rescued along with his brother when they were just 7 weeks old, Tiger was found as a stray before being brought to the shelter. Tiger is great with other dogs and thrives in a playful environment. He loves to play hard and has had some basic training, making him a fun and active companion. However, he’s not a fan of cats and would do best in a home without them. Tiger would be the perfect addition to a family with another active and playful dog or an active household that can keep up with his boundless energy. If you’re looking for a spirited and affectionate pup to join your family, Tiger might just be your new best friend!
