We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! Story
Hero is a beautiful dog. It's unfortunate that I am moving and will not be able to keep her. She would do well with someone that is home almost all the time with an active life style. She needs a fenced in yard to run and get her energy out in, and to be walked a lot. She does need a haircut ever 8 weeks and that can be pricey. She is potty trained but is always kenneled outside when we are gone. She is rarely left alone currently but with a job change and move I don't think she will love her life being home alone. She is wonderful with kids and very playful! She does help herself if food is left out. She knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. She is a dog that follows you everywhere and won't leave you alone!

Story
Hey there! We are Eddie and Depot! We are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together. We are both 6 years old and have been each other’s constant companions through thick and thin. We eat, sleep and play together and we are the best of friends.Eddie is the black standard poodle and Depot is the white poodle. We are both sweet and super laid-back dogs and we enjoy playing and going for walks together. We get along with other dogs, but we are not sure how we are with cats. We would love a home where we will gets lots of love, playtime, and proper grooming. Because of our coat types we will need regular grooming to keep us tangle free and looking our best. We are up to date on all of our vaccinations but will need a regular veterinarian to make sure we stay happy and healthy. If we sound like the right duo for you, please come meet us :) If you are interested in adopting us or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.The fee to adopt us together is $300

Story
Piper is a 3-year old doodle mix in great health. Originally rescued from a shelter at around 1 y/o. Piper is loving, empathetic, and very smart. She enjoys snoozing in the sun, playing with chew toys, practicing training (sit, touch, wait, leave it, and place commands), and going on walks and runs. Piper is highly food-motivated and is eager to please. Piper has some behavioral issues that will require continued management and training (leash reactivity, resource guarding, some separation anxiety) and our current trainer (who is fantastic) will meet with you free of charge to help Piper transition. We are rehoming her because she recently started showing aggression towards one of her owners (resulting in a couple minor bites). We love Piper very much and we want to find her a home that better fits her lifestyle where she can thrive. Her ideal home should be free of small pets, children, and have loving owners willing to provide her positive reinforcement and consistent training.
