Story
Well hello there! I’m Violet, a 3-year-old Poodle mix. At 45 pounds, I’m just the right size to be your best friend for life. People say I’m the perfect Poodle and not to toot my own horn but I would have to agree. I’m super sweet and friendly. Whether you’re up for an adventure or a cozy day at home, I’ll be right by your side, ready to make every moment special. Doesn’t that sound so nice? I’m great on a leash and would love to accompany you on your walks. I’m looking for a forever family to shower with love and loyalty. If you’re searching for a sweet and well-mannered companion who will bring endless joy to your life, I think I’m the one for you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Meet London! London is a 2Y female goldendoodle mix. This animal is coming up on a transport to the NYC Area Saturday, January 11th and is looking for a foster home to go into. There are multiple shelters down south that are overcrowded and Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue partners with these shelters to move the animals into foster homes in the North East before they are adopted into their forever family homes. What does it mean to be a foster? The first, and most important, responsibility is to provide a caring and safe home environment. There are some very specific guidelines that we will share with you that will keep everyone safe and healthy. From basic food and water, quarantine periods, and where you can or cannot take your foster, our Foster Handbook and Foster Mentors are fantastic resources. Depending on what type of animal you’re fostering, you’ll need some things in advance. These items may include a crate, puppy pads, or food and water bowls but we have a large foster network that helps share supplies! Louie’s Legacy will pay for full vetting, spay or neuter surgery, and all approved medical or behavioral treatments. By fostering a dog or cat…YOU are MAKING a DIFFERENCE! Every pet deserves saving! Let’s not leave any behind! Apply to foster today! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/LOUE/Dog *Please note that the pet you are interested in may not be available by the time we receive your application. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible and to be open to helping other animals in need.

Story
Our super sweet Fig is a curly coated Mini Poodle who is waiting to meet his forever family! He is a bit shy at first introductions but will gradually warm up to new friends. This adorable boy is very playful and is somewhat choosy about what he likes to eat! He was extremely matted when he first came to us and therefore had to be shaved. His beautiful curls will soon appear!Fig is 3 1/2 years old, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heart worm negative and will be neutered upon adoption . He is currently at our Freeport location. If you would like to meet this adorable pup, please fill out the adoption application on our website using a laptop or desktop (no phone or tablet, please) at https://bobbiandthestrays.org/adoption-page-new/. Kindly keep in mind that our adoptions are local only (NYC area and Long Island).

Story
Jack is looking for his forever home. He was found in Prospect Park, dirty, hungry, and severely underweight at 17 lbs. He wasn't neutered and didn't know how to sit or any other commands. Although microchipped, calls to his "owner" weren't answered, and she didn't return the vet's phone call or reply to messages. We neutered him, got him shots, taught him to sit, and are in the process of crate training him. He's around one year old and has a lot of love and energy. However, he does have some behavioral issues: 1. He has separation anxiety and cries and goes frantic if you leave him. He'll need gradual crate training. 2. He shows some resource-guarding tendencies. When eating, if my cats come over, he'll growl and snap at them. Additionally, when he goes to bed, if I attempt to move the blanket he's sleeping on, he will growled and snap at me, but he has never bitten. Ideally, he'll be with someone with some experience with these issues who has the time and resources to invest in him!
