Story
Thank you for your interest in Rollo. He is a gorgeous, 7 year old, standard poodle who came to us when tragedy struck. He was living on a farm with him Mom and Dad and life was grand. Then Dad died and Mom got sick and had to move. It was hard for Rollo as he lost his best friend and had to move to the scary city. He tried to adjust but everything was hard. There was a lot of activity around him and he just couldn't handle it so his family asked if SPIN could help. How could we say no? Rollo came in and settled into life at his foster.

Story
CLARINGTON, ON - Thank you for your interest in Paisley. Another dog who came to us from a puppy mill. We didn't know what to expect when she came in but we were ready for anything. She had that typical "puppy mill smell". Barn, shavings, manure, urine. Her hair wasn't too long and it wasn't matted but the smell was there. Paisley was a little shy but did really well even though we had to handle her quite a bit. We think she knew life was about to get WAY better!

Story
Some dogs are born into loving homes and then are adored for the rest of their lives. Others are not. And this happened to SPIN’s beautiful Salem. Salem wasn’t perfect. Goodness knows he wasn’t perfect. He pulled on leash and chased the cats and he was bouncy and playful and a little mouthy and he growled at his owner when they tried to punish him. For four years this was his life. Four years of being a disappointment because he was, you know, a standard poodle. Many people desire a perfect dog, or perhaps a warm, stuffed animal—cuddly, soft, quiet, perfect. They often believe this is how dogs naturally are, not considering their energy, intelligence, playfulness, and fears. When these traits emerge, people blame the dog, and resentment settles in. We loved him right away. Everyone who met him liked him immediately! What a smart, cuddly pup! Of course, we are all poodle people and all we could say to him was, "Welcome to SPIN, buddy!" To help him overcome his general level of anxiety that was built up over the 4 years he was in a stressful home, SPIN put him on Fluoxetine. And man, has this helped. You will see below in the description from his foster that he is still a little jumpy around loud noised and new things – he still doesn’t love having his ears and neck touched or pulled. I think we can understand why. Ah, Salem, we will find you a home where you can feel safe, warm and loved.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Hubert. He is such a fun loving, energetic, happy, barky boy. He loves people and dogs and life. Some of it he loves a little too much. Well, not too much for him but too much for other dogs. But he is really just a softee who wants to run and play and be chased. Running, bouncing, barking, playing, snuggling, hugging, what could be better?

Story
Oh, Boomer, you are a love and a frustration all rolled into one beautiful package. Boomer was sold to a family with young children during Covid and that meant he had a lot of people home all the time and didn't get much of the socialization he should have received. He did get a lot of company at home though! Unfortunately the young boy in the family fell ill, they needed to move and were unable to bring Boomer with them. That's how he came into our care. We've been taking out time getting to know him because as much as he is a lovely boy, he has his struggles too.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Noah. His life didn't start out great. A kind woman was able to convince his family to give him up and thank goodness they did! Noah had his first haircut, was neutered, treated for an eye infection and bilateral ear infection. Once he was on the road to recovery she asked SPIN if we could help find him a perfect forever home. We jumped at the chance!
