Hello! My name is Belinda!I`m a sensitive girly with an unknown history. I`m looking for a special home that has the time, patience and experience to work with me. I seem to be new to walking on leash. I get spooked easily from sudden noises and movements. I`m taking a bit of time warming up to humans. I am pretty interested in the yummy treats they offer. I`ve made some progress so far but still have a long way to go. It`s possible I have not lived in a home before. I would love to join a calm home that can provide a lot of stability and routine. MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I would do best in an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: Yes, I seem to show some interest in other calm dogs. I don`t seem to enjoy when they are exuberant. A well-rounded dog in the home would be a great asset in helping me gain some confidence. CATS: Potentially, with cats confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for an experienced home.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended given I can be a flight risk. HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings given my sensitivities to commotion.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. CLARINGTON, ON - Thank you for your interest in Paisley. Another dog who came to us from a puppy mill. We didn't know what to expect when she came in but we were ready for anything. She had that typical "puppy mill smell". Barn, shavings, manure, urine. Her hair wasn't too long and it wasn't matted but the smell was there. Paisley was a little shy but did really well even though we had to handle her quite a bit. We think she knew life was about to get WAY better!

Thank you for your interest in Rollo. He is a gorgeous, 7 year old, standard poodle who came to us when tragedy struck. He was living on a farm with him Mom and Dad and life was grand. Then Dad died and Mom got sick and had to move. It was hard for Rollo as he lost his best friend and had to move to the scary city. He tried to adjust but everything was hard. There was a lot of activity around him and he just couldn't handle it so his family asked if SPIN could help. How could we say no? Rollo came in and settled into life at his foster.

Thank you for your interest in River. River came to us from an owner who got him from somewhere in the USA. He arrived so fearful that the owner didn't really know what to do with him so he, and another dog, were kept in a shed with an attached yard. The owner didn't interact with them much and River thought that was absolutely fine. People are scary, the world is scary and he was comfortable in his little part of the world. Well, things changed the day River came to SPIN.

Thank you for your interest in Chanel. How a girl can be so sweet when her life was so miserable before coming into SPIN's care, is beyond our belief. You would have cried if you had seen her, and smelled her, when she came to us. You see, we received a call that a puppy mill was finished with a poodle and we could have her if we wanted her. If we didn't, they would just kill her. Yes, that is how cruel the world of commercial breeding can be. We had a wonderful volunteer jump in the car and race to pick up this dog and that is how we met Chanel.
