Story
This sweet, handsome fella was roaming the city and county for a few months and no one could catch him. We were called in to help and within a few hours he was safe in our care thanks to a citizen helping man the traps. He is very sweet, friendly and loving but he definitely has a checkered past. He does not like to be left alone for too long and can get destructive. Like many dogs here in TN he was neglected to the point where he lost trust in humans. He has now learned that there are some really great humans and so he wants to be with you. He does like to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog or 2 that are friendly and playful. He is also very young (we can only guess) so he needs an active family. He loves water, going for walks and is a great car rider. He does great with kids too. I think he would love a big, fun family to smother him with love and attention. He will need an adopter willing to work with his separation anxiety and help him get over that(there are lots of free resources). He is a Poodle, not sure if he is pure or a mix but he is going to require regular grooming. He is a high maintenance guy looking for the perfect home to meet his needs. If you are interested in our sweet Roman please visit funnyfarmpets.org where you can read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works. You will also find the link to submit the application. His adoption fee is $325 and if he has to be transported from TN where he is currently fostered there will be an additional $200 fee.

8/13 UPDATE: Ok, so I've ventured out to all kinds of places: Boiling Springs Lake walk to see geese and sniff their poop, Tractor Supply to find dog kibbles on the floor, 2 parks in Dillsburg and even took a walk during Rush Hour in Down Town Dillsburg! What more do you want in life? Just a man about town I is and LOVING LIFE in the real world! 7/25 UPDATE: I got to go to PETSMART! Boy, was it fun! Met other dogs, people and I got treats! Little shy initially, but once seeing/smelling all the good stuff, I could make this a habit! Foster Mom bought me a treat and special toy for being such a good dog. I met kids, adults and even walked past the cats who hissed at me. They are SCARY things!!!! I'm sure mom will take me more places. Such a fun time I had!  7/16/24 UPDATE:I'm making GREAT STRIDES in ASKING for love, coming when called and accepting the open hand. NO HOUSE Issues/ NO marking! I am kenneled at night, sleep quietly and come out ready to "RUMBLE" as I am excited to be in a REAL HOME! Duke, Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl - -  Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl - - Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl, - - - - -  Well, think you get it. I’m known as Duke, no, not the Duke of Earl as the song says that hit top of the charts in US and UK in 1962. I’m affectionately known by my foster parents as “DUKIE” a Fun Loving  "Possibly PURE" STANDARD POODLE 4 year old, 60#, gorgeous blend of white with black ears, black freckled body, black “Butt”, curly coated young man with a Grin “Ear to Ear” since going to a foster home!  Yes, Poodles CAN BE BI and TRI colored, known as "Party Poodles"! Due to recent release from a breeder situation, I’m still shy to an offered hand, but LEARNING FAST! I’m OH, So gentle, respectful of other dogs, take treats gently side by side and NOT A MEAN BONE IN MY BODY! I’m loving life with new dogs to play, a yard to explore and navigating a true home environment. A few new things I’m experiencing…. TV (what the heck is this big thing that shows animals “My Size”), PEANUT BUTTER (Yep, you guessed it, Love LOVE the sticky stuff!) Bananas (Nope not my thing), Shredded Cheese (Yep, another yummy), Animal Crackers (Great). My joy for life is visible as I do Zoomies in the home and out! I’ve also started to steel dirty socks, sneakers and anything else I can taunt my foster parents with “Just Because!” My foster bros and sisters just look at me as if crazy. WHO CARES! I just flash on past them, grinning, butt down and grass flying. I’m eating side by side “6” other dogs, NO PROBLE, taking treats together, NO PROBLEM. Steps, NO PROBLEM, Crate, NO PROBLEM! House training, ALMOST THERE, and am learning to walk on a leash along side my foster 4-legged family. Poodles are “Hypoallergenic” with little if any shedding. My coat is thick, luscious. I will need routine grooming.  With new experiences, love and time, I am warming up to people slowly. I’m told I’ll be great with all, young, old, kids (that will be gentle), other dogs and even Cats. On the “8” acres in foster home, I have shown I’ll stick around, following the lead of a buddy dog as my security, but probably could be an only dog if given extra time and patients. I SOOOO want to please and be loved! At times, I need encouragement to come to your open hand, but have recently come on my own asking for love! I’ll paw your hand as if to say “Pet Me Please!” What do you think? Want to meet? I’m Dukie, a TRULY SPECIAL SOUL Sweet, Gentle needing time, patients, positive reinforcement to allow my true personality to shine through!  To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Story
Gigi, a gorgeous, female, silver standard poodle, was rescued from a local shelter on 11/6/23, and was guesstimated to be about a year old. She weighed 41.4 pounds and was a little thin. While her coat wasn’t terrible, hair completely covered her beautiful eyes so that you couldn’t see them. After being brought up to date on vaccinations, she was groomed and it was easy to see what a gorgeous girl she is and her sweetness is every bit as spectacular as her looks. The groomer said that as she gets older her color will lighten to the color of her face, which was a beautiful silver color. The groomer said she is what is called a silver poodle. At the shelter they said she was good with everybody, dogs, cats, and people, and that definitely seems to be the case. She rides well in the car and in fact, she seems to love to ride in the car. She walks well on a leash and has not had any accidents in her foster mom’s house. She is an all-round super sweet girl. She is microchipped and was scheduled to be spayed on 11/16/23 but became ill at that time and had to be hospitalized for 8 days. All tests came back negative, but she began to get better with the administration of Prednisone. She was rail thin when she was released back to the care of her foster mom. Our vet wanted her to weigh 50 pounds before she was spayed. She finally gained the weight and was spayed and tested heartworm negative on 3/12/24. Her daily dosage of prednisone was slowly decreased to 5 mg every other day, by the end of March and she is doing fantastic. We feel she is ready to find her forever home. Gigi is located in Arkansas and her foster mom thinks she is the best. The adoption donation for Gigi is $1000 plus the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Gigi, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here.
