As we enter a new year, I want to introduce myself. I'm Shasta, a 12-year-old young lady. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I lived with my dad until recently when he had to go to an assisted living home. No one else could care for me, so I ended up at the shelter. This really great group called Fetch came to get me and now I've been staying in a home with my foster mom.I really am the bestest girl and always tell her when I have to go out to potty. My paperwork told her I'm not always the best with other dogs,  but I've actually been really good with the small, calm dogs that she has in her house. I am a little weary of strangers and new dogs but I seem to warm up quickly.My foster mom says I could stand to lose a few pounds (I mean who couldn't) but my foster mom has been helping me go for short walks. With the lack of exercise, my back hips are on the weak side but my foster mom has been giving me hip and joint supplements and the walks have been helping to build up the strength again. What I'm looking for is a quiet home where I can rest and get lots of pets. I really love a good belly rub or good butt scratch. My goal now is to find you;  a forever family.  I'm learning potty training but you will need to work with me as I navigate through this. I've discovered toys and treats and I love playing with the other dogs in my foster home. I also do great in my kennel!Since I spent most of my previous time being caged, I spin in circles alot. I saw you looking at me and you were probably wondering who's that cutie patootie? Well, my name is Maggie Mae and I'm a happy and full of energy little girl. But more than anything else, I'm grateful. Having spent my life pushing out puppies, a lot of things are new like leashes, pottying outside, and playing with toys. But with us working together as a team I can overcome that. While my foster mom and dad are at work, I stay in my kennel and I keep it clean. I prefer to have a buddy close by because I get scared and it's good to have that support! Even though I'm happy to see my foster mom and dad, I'm still kind of shy to go by them. So I'm going to need a patient and loving home to make me feel safe.I like to look and feel my best so regular brushing and haircuts are a must. Don't worry though, I did really well when my foster mom gave me a bath and brushed me out and she even gave me a haircut. She told me that I did better than my sister Riley.Because I’m still gaining confidence, I’d do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can explore safely.
