ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // How can you resist those soulful eyes? Merrie is a beautiful, 2-year-old, Schnauzer/Terrier mix that weighs 26lbs. A great small/medium-size pup! She is a sweet, affectionate, and playful little mamma who recently gave birth to puppies. Her pups have found their forever homes and now it's Merrie turn. She loves disemboweling stuffies, walks around the neighborhood, belly rubs, zoomies, snuggling on the couch, naps, and is a chill, quiet work from home side kick! She is a great balance of playful and mellow. At bedtime, Merrie would love to snuggle up near you if you'll let her. Merrie figured out the doggy door at his fosters house within minutes and has done great with potty training. She is a total sweetheart who would benefit from a daily routine, structure and training to help her continue to build confidence. She is eager to please and happy to learn!  Merrie gets along well with other dogs and older kids who are ok with her playful energy (her foster family includes 2, 7-year-olds and Merrie does great with them). The best fit for Merrie would be with an active, loving family/person who will love her and help her be the best family member she can be. She's quite the little character and will make a very loyal furry sidekick. She is spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. She is gonna be a great family member. Her adoption fee is $300.00 and helps the organization cover spay costs, vaccinations, medical treatment, food and supplies. ♥ All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  August 20, 2024, 2:15 pm

She is not only a beautiful girl but her personality is just THE best. She grew up in a foster home which means this pup is the most loving and social little thing around. She currently is fostered in a home with children and other dogs who has daily exposure to women, men and all different size dogs. She has stayed at casa de arwob a couple of times and always does great with the cats too. She is crate trained and in her foster home she is house trained. She is a puppy who will seek human attention and then play with her doggy friends. Beauty is now fully vaccinated, spayed and of course microchipped which means her foster family takes her camping and to the dog beach often. She is always a hit at the dog park making friends and especially saying hi to all the humans she meets. We would love a family who is seeking to adopt a medium size dog who will need some brushing as her coat is not long but 'fuzzy' like a terrier. Her identical sister was adopted in June and her DNA test came back as 33% Havanese, 25% Cao da Serra De Aires and 21% Tibetan Terrrier and 15% LowchenBeauty and her brother Mr. Ed are the last 2 standing pups of the littler and as of the first week of July Beauty is 19 pounds. We believe she will reach the 30 pound range making her a perfect size for san diego living.Looking to adopt a dog like Beauty? Story
Meet Owen!! This beautiful boy is 7 months old and 23 pounds. He will grow a little more. When Owen was about 4 months old a volunteer found him on the streets with no ID tag or microchip, he was in good condition, was taken to the Vet for check up, and then to a foster mom. We suspect he belonged to a family and got lost. Unfortunately with no ID tag or microchip the owners couldn't be found. He got fixed, all his vaccinations, and his Vets says he is a healthy doggy! Ready to find his forever loving family. Owen can be a little shy when he first meets you, but he warms up right away. He is active and curious; he loves to play with Kong toys, and loves to explore the yard! He eats his kibble, but also enjoys baby carrots, and some banana, pieces of strawberries. His foster mom plays relaxing music while he takes naps, he is so spoiled! He takes daily walks with a walker and a pack of dogs. Owen was not used to daily walks, including walking with a pack, but now he feels more and more comfortable and happy with each passing day. He sleeps in his doggy bed right next to his foster mom, has access to a yard during the day, and goes potty outdoors. Owen is active, therefore a family with another active and friendly dog would be a huge plus as he likes company. He would love to join his future family on hiking or other outdoor activities. Owen deserves a forever loving family, please submit your application at www.drwb.org if interested in him.

Story
Mia is the most loving baby. She’s 7 months old and was gifted to us at 1 month. As mentioned, she’s still little and tends to like to teeth on items but teething toys are her best friends. She is absolutely playful! A bit shy and scared at first with other humans but when approached with love, she begs for attention. She’s been raised around our other dog, Belgian malinois, and they are inseparable. Also has been raised around 4 adults, two kids, and a baby. Mia is trained to pee on her mats around our home and is obedient when taken to the park and off the leash. We will be moving away ends of October where pets are not allowed and we need to find a forever home for her. This is very tough on my family and would love for Mia to be well taken care of in her new home.
