Story
Tramp is such a sweet dog! This guy is quite the jackpot. He lives with 4 other dogs and a cat in his foster home and does great with all of them. He ignores the cat and has been getting more and more playful with the other dogs. He's super sweet and gentle, he loves attention but is also very good at keeping himself entertained. He loves to play with toys, especially plush ones, and chew on bones. He’s been very lowkey whenever we go somewhere and would make a great brewery or coffee shop buddy. He loves a good snuggle and definitely appreciates the comfort of a plush dog bed or couch. He really enjoys sunbathing on my porch. He's active but not hyperactive. He likes to get out and go for walks but he's also very content to just hang out with you while you're working. He walks very well on leash, even though the bunnies definitely catch his attention he doesn't chase them or lunge on the leash. He's learning to love his crate. He does well in the dog room when he's around other dogs. He can be a little whiny at first if he's alone but quiets down fast. His foster mom has a highlight reel of him on Instagram if you’d like to see more photos and videos @wander_adventurously Tramp has been diagnosed with heartworm, a condition caused by parasitic worms living in the heart and lungs. However, it's important to note that heartworm is not contagious, meaning it cannot be transmitted directly from one animal to another. The disease spreads through the bite of an infected mosquito, not through direct contact. Fortunately, his treatment will be paid for by POSO and he has already started the pill treatment. Will come fully up to date medically and with 2 free dog training sessions

Story
Relishing his second chance at life, sweet 7-year-old Ronaldo adjusted swiftly to his foster home’s schedule. Clearly someone’s pet at one time, he’s 40 fit pounds of friendliness, and loves nothing more than having his belly scratched! He also loves cuddling and snuggling with his foster mom, is growing increasingly comfortable around men, and gives new meaning to the term “people pleaser.” Not only does Ronaldo love running and playing in the backyard, he LOVES his daily walks, walks well on leash, and adjusts his pace to that of his doggy foster friends. He walks more slowly for the senior dog and picks up his pace for the younger one, and probably will enjoy going on hikes. After an initial greeting to new dogs, his calm energy relaxed them and they became quite playful together. Fond of toys and chewing on his Nylabone, he knows “sit,” is working on “back,” is motivated by food, toys and love, sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is almost fully house-trained. Now, to realize his dream of happily-ever-after, Ronaldo will thrive in an especially loving home with or without other dogs, that will bolster his confidence and complete his training, including his commands, in return for his own fur-ever love. Check out additional photos and videos of Ronaldo here.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Mater, and I am very sweet Schnauzer boy who is 5 years old, and I weigh 14 pounds. I get along with other dogs and am very social and sweet. Children over 10 years old would be okay with me. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Schnauzer, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Looking for a dog that will make you LOL? Rufo, our Schnauzer mix goofball, is here to bring the laughs! Forget about being grumpy; this boy will draw you in with his soulful eyes, get you hooked with his playful, hilarious personality, then he'll seal the deal with some snuggles - resting his head in your lap and letting out a deep, grateful-to-be-rescued sigh. This Texas transplant has got the looks and the charm, but just a heads up: he still needs to learn that people aren't chewable. He's a hit with the furry friends, but don't worry, he won't forget about you. Rufo is a natural-born comedian who will keep you on your toes. Get ready for some serious belly laughs and furry snuggles with this guy around!! Rufo is looking for a lady friend to share his adventures with! He's had his heart broken by a dude in the past, but he's ready to put that behind him and find someone who wants to travel the world (or just hang out on the couch) with him. At 2 years old, Rufo still has enough spunk and energy to join you on any adventure you may choose, but is past the crazy puppy stage. Weighing in at about 30 lbs, he's a great medium size! He's still small enough to squeeze into your lap for pets, but isn't a fragile little guy. And those ears! Always on alert for danger... or snacks!! If you think this amazing pup would fit well into your home, please apply to adopt him now!! ##1992046##
