Story
I rescued Gunner from a neglected and abusive home in 2021 and was told he was born in 2018. He has readjusted extremely well with being shown kindness and patience and has become a good dog. He is not overly skittish or nervous, his background in fact gave him a strong personality of adversity and grit. He does not respond well with two people wrestling or goofing off together; I believe he thinks they are hurting one another. He is extremely social with other animals (all animals). He unfortunately is very unpredictable with kids and therefore have kept him away from them for everyone's safety. He loves to cuddle and snuggle under the blankets. He loves camping and being outdoors and rides extremely well in a vehicle. He is a good little passenger seat rider and likes to go where you go and be involved. He needs a home where someone can spend a lot of time with him, no children, someone who treats him family not just a dog. I can no longer care for him and want him to have the best!

Meet Coco: Your Future Furry Friend Introducing Coco, a lively young male Schnauzer with a zest for life and a playful spirit that is simply infectious! Coco is full of energy and loves nothing more than engaging with his toys, whether it’s a fun game of fetch or a good old-fashioned tug-of-war. His playful antics are sure to bring joy and laughter to any home. Coco does have a slight territorial nature, which is common in Schnauzers, so he may need some guidance to help him adjust to his new surroundings. With patience and consistent training, Coco will quickly learn the ropes and become a well-mannered member of your family. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog: Adjustment Period: Coco will need time to acclimate to his new home. Be patient as he familiarizes himself with his environment and routine. Training Needs: Consistent training is crucial for Coco, especially to manage his territorial tendencies. Positive reinforcement and patience will be key in helping him learn commands and good behavior. Exercise Requirements: Coco is an active pup who will need regular physical activity. Daily walks, play sessions, and mental stimulation are important to keep him healthy and happy. Socialization: Introducing Coco to various people, pets, and environments will help him become a well-rounded and confident dog. Socialization is important for developing his friendly nature. Story
Rocket is a sweet Schnauzer mix that we rescued back in 2015 as a puppy - he will turn 10 years old this year. He loves to cuddle with us, and is mainly just a chill guy who wants to hang out and is fine doing nothing. He enjoys being outside, but everything he does he enjoys more when he’s near his adult humans. He loves to be with us. We recently had a child who is now a walking toddler, and for whatever reason, Rocket has not adjusted well to that and has shown to be defensive and aggressive towards him. He has not bitten him, but has growled and made advancements towards him - enough to make us concerned that we don’t want to risk anything. We have made the difficult decision to try to re-home. We want the best situation for all of us, and we think Rocket deserves to be in a home where he can get more attention and be put in less stressful situations (we are recommending a home without small children). Our house is just a little crazy now.

Story
Stella was saved from ACS- the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services euthanasia list. We were happy to bust her out for a new life in Colorado! Stella just recently entered our care so we are still learning more about her... more to come! Notes from ACS: "Dog displayed socialability by coming over for treats and affection with a loose wiggly body and wagging tail. Dog was easy to leash and walk outside to a play yard. Dog came over for affection with a wagging tail while in the play yard. Dog was easy to walk and return to kennel." Stella is now looking to get rescued again- this time by you, her adopter! Once a committed adopter or foster is found, we can schedule Stella on the next transport so she can put San Antonio, Texas in her rearview and head to Denver, Colorado! ##2282108##
