Story
Sylvie is 1 year old, 38 pounds, and a mutt (maybe shnauzer mix). Sylvie is the sweetest girl, who has never met a stranger. She loves every human and dog right when she meets them. Sylvie is smart and loves to learn tricks. She currently knows sit, down, stay, look, touch, spin, etc. Sylvie does not shed. She walks well on a leash with a gentle leader harness on, and is crate trained. Sylvie is an excellent adventure buddy as she will hike or jog as far as you would like. We are rehoming Sylvie because she jumps at our baby and chases our cat. We have been keeping Sylvie mostly separate from the cat and baby, but this ends up as Sylvie spending a lot of time away from the family. I would love to find a new home for her where she can be someones best friend. Sylvie still needs some training to learn not to jump on visitors and not to steal food off the counter. Sylvie should not go to a home with small children or cats. She would love to be in a home with another dog.

Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. You get the bestttt of both worldssss (For those of you that aren't losers in their late twenties like our adoption counselor, The Best of Both Worlds was one of Hannah Montana's most popular songs...*cough* ... Anyway....)  But really, Lukka is the best of both worlds! This fluffy cutie is energetic and outgoing, but loves to cuddle with his foster parents and follow them around the house. He spends his days going on walks, zooming around the yard, and napping on the couch. He would love to go to obedience training to further his education and will need to make regular visits to the groomer to maintain his charming looks. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Lukka is also good in the car and very playful with other dogs. He is the perfect portable size at 20 pounds!  If you're interested in meeting Lukka and his previously Hannah Montana -loving adoption counselor*, please put in an application! *disclaimer - We've already told our adoption counselor she's not allowed to sing when she meets adopters. No one needs to hear that. You're welcome.   All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. August 18, 2024, 1:57 pm
