Story
We got Zazu as a baby back in February of 2017. He is a very good cat and gets along with kids and other animals great. Zazu loves affection from his humans! He will lay on the floor and let everyone, even the kids, pet and cuddle him! He also loves to cuddle on couches with his humans. Little guy does get shy when it comes to new people or a group of people. He will normally hide for a while when more than a few people are over. Once he’s comfortable, he’ll come out for some attention from everyone. He will come with a food container and whatever food we have for him and his litter box. He has a PetSafe Scoop Free Crystal Classic Self-Cleaning litter box. He will be fully vaccinated as well.

Story
Mister Kitty is around 10 years old and has been with our family since we adopted him and his sister Missy as kittens. He is a sweet, loving boy who loves scratches, kids and his cat siblings. Unfortunately when we moved into a new home in 2020, all of our neighbors have dogs and their fences are against our backyard fence. We noticed that Mister started marking our furniture and various places in the house. We have tried vet recommendations and made all the accommodations that are within our power, but the spraying indoors has continued. I know that the threat of the neighbors dogs is the cause of this issue but unfortunately it isn't something I can control. With a new crawling baby who puts everything in his mouth, we can no longer risk the exposure to cat urine. We are heartbroken to say goodbye to our family member and we pray that he can find a loving home where he feels loved with no fear of threat.

Story
Meet Crew – Our Independent, Slinky Orange Tabby Crew came to us at six weeks old, born to a barn cat and gifted by our daughter. Though we were a two-dog household with no kitten experience, he quickly won us over. Now, nearly three years later, he’s an indoor-outdoor hunter who delivers the occasional mouse. He’s elusive but makes his presence known when hungry or seeking affection—always on his terms. He tolerates our male Golden-doodle, playfully tussling before disappearing, but keeps his distance from our overexcited female English bulldog. He adores my husband and teenage son. Crew had initial vaccines but isn’t up to date. We trim his claws, though he’s not thrilled about it. He sleeps in bed with us but moves to the beat of his own drum. Sadly, we’re moving and can’t take him due to severe family allergies and a no-cat policy where we’re headed. We know he’d struggle with the change. Crew needs a home that appreciates his independence and quirks. If that’s you, let’s chat!

These pups are in Colorado Springs, Colorado too!

Story
Hello there! My name is Baby Doe. I'm a 10-year-old spayed female white patch Tabby. I have 4 white mittens and great tabby markings. I've been at Safe Place a while now but am still hoping for a home soon. I can be a bit shy at first, but I warm up quickly and am an absolute sweetheart. I was named after a famous lady named Baby Doe Tabor. I'm an independent gal but love playing with the laser pointer and hanging out in a sunny window. I'm not a huge lap cat but once I know the lay of the land, I am nearby for attention. I enjoy climbing up on cat trees or wherever I can find a place to go high too. I prefer to be the only cat. I'm ok with older children but I've not been around dogs. My $50 adoption fee covers everything too including a new collar! visit www.safeplacepets.org for more info and to complete an application.

Story
Hi I'm Dixie, a 17-year-old spayed DSH tabby female. I arrived at Safe Place several months ago after my owner died alone in her house. Unfortunately, I was left by myself for days at a time in a crate while the family commuted back and forth from another state to take care of necessary arrangements. This caused me to be quite afraid of people. The folks at Safe Place rescued me and after several months of kindness, patience and attention, I leaned to trust and feel safe again. I would do best in a low activity home without other dogs or cats. My favorite things include being brushed with the rubber brush, chasing a laser pointer, and sitting nicely next to you while you give me treats. I'm ready to find another human to be pals with. I'm an older gal but have recent vet visits and my test results show I'm in good shape for my age. Could you be the one to give me love and another home? My $50 adoption fee includes vaccinations, recent vet check, recent blood tests, and a microchip. Come meet me today. www.safeplacepets.org

Story
Hello, I'm Manning, an 11-year-old neutered male brown/grey Tabby. People always notice my handsome markings and strikingly green eyes when they first see me, but I also have a mellow personality! I came to Safe Place with my brother but he got adopted. I'm a social guy once I get to know you but like my independence too. I would do best in a low activity home. I've been around other cats but not dogs or young children. My $100 adoption donation includes FVRCP, Rabies, FeLV/FIV test which was negative, a microchip, a starter bag of food. But wait.... I also come with my own cat bed, a scratcher for my claws, and toys. Visit www.safeplacepets.org to complete an application today!
