Story
Ryder may be shy at first, but when he gets to know you, he is so much fun! He loves to play with the laser and really tries hard to climb the walls while chasing it! He enjoys being petted and will sometimes climb in bed with you to snuggle. Ryder may require some patience while he adjusts new people and surroundings. He will talk to you in “chirps” and he likes to explore and investigate what you were doing by lying near you and watching closely while purring. Ryder has been neutered, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated, and is negative for feline leukemia and FIV. If interested in adopting Ryder, please fill out an application at Castawaycats.com.

Story
.Ladybug aka Rosie came to our back porch pregnant, scared, and starving. She was desperately searching for any bit of food and came back every night to see if the other neighborhood cats left scraps on their plates. After a week of barely approaching us, Rosie was hungry enough to allow herself to be caught and brought inside again! We don’t know her full story but she was clearly someone’s abandoned pet because she is so incredibly sweet and loving. Rosie would be happy if every day she got to follow you around and get kisses any spare moment you had. She’s playful, curious, and earned the nickname “Nosey Rosie” because she just can’t stop seeing what you’re up to! She has learned to be brave and no longer hides when nervous. Now she prefers to sit right next to you, just in case you may need saving or a cuddle. She’ll be your absolute best friend if you adopt her! A friend with clear communication skills, by the way. Rosie is very clear that she loves face, shoulder, and head scratches (and kisses) but she is not a fan of butt pets. She’ll also chirp and roll around on the floor in the mornings to let you know she missed you while you were sleeping. Rosie is FIV positive, which is NOT a death sentence, the only way it could be spread and ONLY to cats is by deep bite wounds and she has proven that she can live peacefully in a house full of cats with no issues. She is being fostered in a home with four adult cats (3 girls & 1 boy) and she gets along with all of them, peacefully, with no incidents. She would do well in a house with other animals of any kind but might struggle in a house with young kids. She needs to live with someone who can understand her cues for no more pets and who will be ok with her always being right at your feet for attention. Is that your house? Are you looking for someone to cuddle up with you full of love and purring? If interested in Ladybug (Rosie) or any of our castaway cats please fill out an application at castawaycatsde.com

*The tortoiseshell (Reba) and brown tabby(Lainey) are still available* The tabico and buff male were adopted! These are the Rambleton Acres babies (3 girls-tortoiseshell-tabico and brownl tabby and one boy-buff tabby). They were born under someone's shed and they cared enough to call for help so they can be brought in safe and sound and properly taken care of. They are very sweet but still shy yet but with a little TLC will come out of their shells very soon. They have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated, micro-chipped and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. We love to adopt them out in pairs if at all possible! If you are interested in these babies or any castaway cats of ours, please fill out our application at castawaycatsde.com

Hadley and a bunch of other cats were living in a drug house and when the owner died, the landlord was going to throw all of the cats outside in the cold. Story
Dottie was a great mother, raising two kittens on the street, and made a huge fuss when we were getting her in a carrier. She continued to complain all the way home, but once she and her kittens were made comfortable inside, it was clear the fuss was because she was just a scaredy-cat! She blossomed into a sweetheart overnight! Dottie is still quite shy but is becoming more trusting every day and learning to get enjoyment from being petted. Her gentle nature shines through in the soft trills she uses to communicate her curiosity and affection. Each day is bringing new moments of connection, and she is turning into a sweet and loving companion and recently began seeking out her foster for pets and attention! Dottie will need some time getting used to a new environment, but the bond with her will be worth it as she is gentle, loyal, and sweet. Dottie is spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated, vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP, and negative for leukemia and FIV. She gets along well with other cats and doesn’t mind the foster’s dog. If interested in adopting, please fill out an application on Castawaycatsde.com.

Story
Meet Pancake! Sweet orange tabby that was literally thrown out like trash😪 That is where the fosters found him at, cowering by his litter box and food bowl in a alley in town. They were planning on taking a break from fostering for a little bit, but could not leave this sweet boy outside. They call him Pancake because he flops over like a pancake. when you go to pet him, he's so happy to be inside! He has now been neutered, vaacinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated, microchipped and is negative for feline leukemia and FIV (aids). They is fine with other cats but not really thrilled about the foster dogs. If you are interested in him or any of our castaway cats, please fill out our application at castawaycatsde.com Thank you!

ABOUT MONICA! Meet Monica, our beautiful seven-year-old girl! This little lady came to HAP as a stray momma. She's a very adventurous lady and will need a home that can safely let her spend time inside and outside. Monica has spent time in foster and was adopted from us, but her current owner didn't feel like the neighborhood was a safe one for Monica's wandering ways. Monica has a great personality and loves being with people. She will keep you entertained and give you snuggles when she finally stops exploring. She enjoys being with people and spending time indoors. Monica will dash through doors as quick as a flash and seems to enjoy spending time outside as well. Her owner said that she would stay close to home but then began to explore a little too far out of their cul-de-sac. We will be reviewing applications for Monica to ensure that her new home is located somewhere where she can explore safely. She should not be in a home that can present a danger by cars or traffic. Monica would make a wonderful working cat for a small farm or business that would like an outdoor cat that will also bring them affection and love. **Monica has been diagnosed with very early-stage kidney disease. While this can shorten her lifespan, we have no reason to believe she doesn't have many, many more years left in her! She is currently being treated with a special diet and managed by yearly vet visits. If you are interested in adopting Monica, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

ABOUT LORA! Meet Lora, our beautiful six-year-old tabby girl! This pretty lady was brought to HAP by some good Samaritans, who had been feeding her for a few months, after she showed up very skinny to their feral colony. Once she fattened up a bit, she started to show off her sweet side, and her new friends knew that she didn't belong in the outdoors! Lora is a super sweetheart, though she can be a little bossy at times! She likes things to happen on her terms, but when they do, she's a very loving girl! When they don't happen, she does give a little reminder tap that she runs this show! *Lora doesn't like the other cats, and will make that dislike very well known! We don't recommend she go to a home with children or dogs. **If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Story
ABOUT HAZEL Meet Hazel, our funny little gremlin! This kooky lady came to us after her owners were unable to manage her medical issues. Hazel had a bit of a rough start here, she was NOT pleased being confined, but she settled in quickly and let her personality shine! Hazel is a true character! She is the Queen Bee and the biggest diva of them all! She likes what she likes, and she'll let you know what displeases her. She loves to play and loves to snuggle, she's a true lap cat! She allows you to dress her up, though she will only allow that in small doses. She enjoys going for walks in her stroller, as well. Hazel has been in a foster home before, here's what her foster has to say about her: "She is still as sweet as can be!! I sleep in her room 1-2 nights a week so that she can enjoy nighttime cuddles. She has seen my cats and the majority of the time she doesn't mind them. A few times she has hissed at them/back at them. Over the holiday, she was able to meet my nieces and nephew and did really well! She just loves attention!! Her newest thing is asking for belly rubs!" **Hazel has skin allergies, which are currently managed by a special diet and medication. If not managed, this allergy causes her to break out into a super itchy rash. She MUST stay on her special diet and medication unless otherwise directed by your vet. *Hazel has recently decided that she would be comfortable sharing a home with other kitties, though she does need a slow introduction and a home with calmer cats! We aren't sure how she'd do with a dog, but we assume she would bully them. Once in a home, she does super well with children and new people, though she can be a little grumpy during transitions.
