Story
My family and I moved to Georgia in 2019 and quickly realized the neighborhood had two furry residents of its own. Through ring camera footage, talking with neighbors and sightings in passing I watched Unagi (a black tom) and Spicy Tuna (a little calico) live out their day to day as the street ferals. Unfortunately as unspayed/neutered animals do, Spicy would constantly get pregnant, she never managed to keep her kittens alive. Spicy Tuna and Unagi were fed by my neighbors and when they decided to move I told them I would do it, I also took it upon myself to rent traps and get the two spayed and neutered through a feral cat program. The plan was to get the two fixed, back in decent health and release them. The universe had other plans, poor Unagi became diabetic and the vet said you either give him insulin shots or he has to be put down, guilt took over and I started Uni on insulin. Miraculously Uni went into diabetic remission and hasn't needed shots in over a year!

B is beautiful, fluffy, shy and loving once she gets to know you. She is 7 years old and weighs 7 pounds. Her full name is Black & White which was shortened to BW then just B. She was originally a feral kitten with 3 sibling. She is litter box trained and lives inside. She loves to sleep in your lap and with you at night if you so desire. We are almost out of time. Please help me find a home for her. Thank you

Story
I adopted Creamsicle at Planned Pethood when she was about 4 months old. She is almost 2 years old. She loves to play, loves attention and is very friendly. Also loves a good lap to lay on. She is kid friendly and is good around other cats. I would like to find her a loving home that she gets the attention that she needs.

Story
Meet Ariel Ariel is a gorgeous tiger kitten with beautiful golden eyes. Ariel came into us alone, and has proven herself to be the official "mama" of the kitten room." She typically watches what's going on and who is coming in to visit, then will work her way down for love and scratches. We think she will fully thrive in a quiet home environment. When potential adopters come in to visit, Ariel has been overlooked because she shares her room with playful, adorable kittens who always steal the show, but her quiet patience really touches our hearts. If you are looking for a sweet kitty who really deserves a break, Ariel is the one for you. Ariel LOVES other kitties and would do best in a home with a kitty companion, or if she is able to bring one of her Smithgall playmates home with her at adoption. If you can open your heart and offer a safe home to Ariel, please submit a cat application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know to be on the lookout. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Butterscotch Butterscotch is the first of our "Candy" kittens who were found abandoned and fighting for life. Butterscotch is a pale orange ginger cat who is just so sweet! He's a little on the quiet side but we've seen great improvement in his confidence. He loves his siblings and the other kittens in the kitten room and would be great with one of his buddies, or to a home that already has a friendly cat. Like so many of our quieter kittens, we are sure Butterscotch will thrive once he's in a calm home. If you can offer a safe indoor home for Butterscotch, and maybe one of his buddies, please submit a cat application from the homepage of our website www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to verify that we received your application. . Story
My daughter brought Zara home a few years ago and I have inherited her as my daughter went to college and now is married. Zara is a very sweet affectionate cat that loves to snuggle. She was raised with another cat and 2 dogs in the house. For the most part she gets along with other animals but does take time to warm up to them.
