Story
Scout is a neutered male hound/weimaraner mix (see his DNA results), weighing about 40-45 lbs. He is a sweet, special boy who has had a rough past and really needs an angel to step up and save his life.  His estimated age is 3-4 years old, however he has graying on his muzzle which makes him look older than he is.  He also has scars on his ears and face.  This boy has definitely experienced trauma and he is slow to trust people, but deep down he just wants to love and be loved.  He is misunderstood and has had people let him down too many times. Scout bonds closely to one person and once he trusts you, you will feel the love and adoration every time he looks into your eyes!  He is a lazy couch potato who loves to nap on the couch next to you and will follow you around the house like your shadow.  Once you’ve really earned his love, he will steal your slippers or other little trinkets that smell like you and take them onto the couch to keep close to him.  He won’t chew them, he just wants to keep a piece of you with him always.   Scout has been adopted and returned once due to fearful aggressive behavior towards men and children.  He has been in his current foster home for 11 months now and has not had a single application on him.  He is a good boy, but he requires a very specific type of home to do well, and we have not had any luck finding the right home for him His current foster mom loves him and has worked hard to help him be the best boy he can be, but there is a man in the home and Scout just cannot comfortably coexist with a man.  He (the man) understands that Scout’s aggression towards him comes from a place of fear and he has tried hard to earn Scout’s trust, but the situation is no longer tenable for Scout or his foster family.  Scout will sadly be facing euthanasia very soon if we do not find any other options for him. Scout’s ideal home: A female only home, no men, children, or cats.  Scout does well with other dogs and likes to be near them, he also has bursts of playful enjoy and will happily romp around for a play session! A friendly, confident doggo friend would help him to feel safe and to trust, although he would also do just fine as an only dog.  A quiet, calm home environment is best for Scout.  He is lower energy and is happy to nap on the couch all day, but he does also love walks (he is strong and tends to pull, so he needs someone strong enough to handle him).  He needs a home that will commit to crating him in a separate room when they have visitors over, as he is not good with new people and when Scout is fearful, he relies on aggression to keep him safe and to keep the “scary” thing away.  Scout needs someone to love him for who he is, warts and all, who will set him up for success and advocate for him. Scout is currently being fostered in CT and he is running out of time!  If you think you might be a good fit for Scout, please consider applying to foster or adopt him!   ##1778132##

Story
Our Chance is an exceptional boy, who has charmed rescue advocates at every stage of his Rescue journey. He loves everybody, and has not flinched at all during a rescue process that leaves lesser dogs rattled.  We've been trying to piece together Chance's backstory, and here's what we know for sure: He was found as a stray in North Carolina, and animal control officers handled him with ease when they brought him to the county shelter. Chance looked weary and malnourished when he arrived at the rural shelter, but his luck improved when the shelter transferred him to our Connecticut Rescue last year so that we could treat him for parasites and find him a a forever home. Chance appears to be a leggy Treeing Walker Coonhound, and he lives up to their lovable reputation. He is a large dog, at a lean weight of 55 pounds. His short, flat tri-colored coat is largely black and tan, with white markings. He has a million dollar profile! Chance is a very gentle boy and would be a great addition to an active family with older, dog savvy kids. He is friendly and will give everyone in the family equal attention. Chance is not one to play favorites, and he is very stranger friendly.  Chance could also join an active single or couple, who can provide at least one to two leisurely leash walks, so that he can meander and stop to smell the "roses." Scent hounds are extremely easy to manage because the leisurely walk that engages their senses, provides much needed mental and physical exercise. Chance has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Chance, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860 908 9738 for more info.
